Medal of Honor Interview: Richard Farrelly, Senior Creative Director
Written Thursday, March 11, 2010 By Dan Webb

By now you should have read our first impressions of the new Medal of Honor, seen the trailer and seen the new screens.

Now, check out what EA LA's Senior Creative Director, Richard Farrelly, has to say about the franchise. We talk about whether Afghanistan is a controversial topic for a video game, how the game will use two game engines - Unreal Engine 3 and the Frostbite Engine - and what they have in store for us this coming fall.

Stoked on this game. Waiting for a yay or nay on a special edition before I pre-order.

Love the MoH series. I thought Airborne was quite good. Plus, with DICE doing the multi this will be a powerhouse combo.

DICE doing the multiplayer... After being indoctrinated to BF:BC2 I have high hopes for that.

The single-player looks awesome too. I don't care what anyone says about EA trying to rip off Modern Warfare. Like COD didn't do that with MOH to begin with, ha.

I have a friend who stutters got used to it, didn't even notice this guy stuttering (was just reading the comments).

But Anywho:

Sounds awesome, EA will be putting all it's efforts into making a great campaign, while Dice works on the multiplayer.

If that set up works out I think more video game companies should do this.

Am I the only one who can't get their head around a game working with TWO engines?
Forgive me if I'm being ignorant here, but isn't that hard to do at once?

Dice doing the multiplayer is great that means OPEN BETA to work out the bugs so that means fewer glitches, unlike a certan IW game. As far as the singal player campaign of the games goes when was the last time that the MOH series had a lack luster singal player campaign. Rest In Peace MW2, your time is coming to an end.

I honestly think that Call of Duty, Battlefield, and now Medal of Honor making it to the modern age is an overall big improvement. For many years, we saw those 3 franchises stuck in the WWII era, which some of the games did it well. But it's good to see them moving on. With that said, the upcoming Medal of Honor should be a hell of a game. Nothing beats "Modern", not even Past or Future.
