Crackdown 2

Crackdown 2 DLC Will Enable Video Replays

Emergent four-player co-op gameplay means that potentially anything can happen at any time, so that's why Crackdown 2 will be getting a video replay function as post-launch DLC.

You'll be able to share and save replays to preserve treasured memories of blowing stuff up or executing an outrageous stunt or crashing a helicopter into a massive group of enemies.

"We wanted to get that functionality into this game," said Executive Producer Peter Connolly. "It won't be there at release, but that doesn't mean we're not going to work on it. We want to do it properly."

Good to know that Ruffian want to do things right rather than cramming something into the game unfinished. We await word on when the downloadable replay function will arrive, but let's hope that it's soon after Crackdown 2's release.

Crackdown 2 is out later this year.

@#6, we may not have got Saved Replays for #1, but we did get Free DLC!

Great news for a great looking game, still working on my completion rate for #1, which is still one of the best games on current-Gen consoles . . .

Well stoked for CrackDown 2 X-D

This along with Portal 2 details just made my day! Crackdown 1 sure did have a lot of moments I would have liked to have recorded. This will be great.

Quit bitching about DLC. If you don't want it, don't get it then. Simple as that. No one has a gun to your head and is forcing you to buy it. It's always funny when gamers get all teary-eyed over studios shutting down but aren't willing to support them. Developers have families to feed too.

Invest in PC gaming if your sick of paying for DLC. Better yet - quit gaming altogether. Anyway, vid replays sounds awesome. looking forward to it.

18, thats why its gonna be DLC so they can get it right instead of it being flawed at launch.

Glad to see Halo 3 had some impact on the industry

@13 launch day dlc pisses me off too, i'd rather they just spent alittle more time making the game better before release rather than making me pay more for what is basically pointless "content", its not like its more missions, weapons or whatever. so it had better be free.
despite that crackdown is a must for me, 1 was amazing but the potential for 2 is ............

Probably THE main reason i loved halo 3. Going back and watching all the funny, stupid, crazy things that happened in a fight. Great news.

You're not imagining it, I distinctly remember them promising this feature as DLC for Crackdown 1.

@6 and 31: You must both be mistaken... Ruffian Games could clearly not have promised this feature for Crackdown 1. They had absolutely nothing to do with Crackdown 1.

You cannot hold it against one development team because another made a promise and didn't deliver.

@32: Because people are idiots, that's why.

@33: Ruffian Games was formed by ex-employees of Realtime Worlds (the devs of the first game). They may have a different name, but it's basically the same people.

First game was a chore and it didn't help not having the bosses spawn when I wanted them to. Didn't enjoy it. Will probably wait a month or 2 so this can hit the bargain bin.

I don't understand it...

"Durr hey I have an idea, let's release Crackdown 2 before the replay feature is ready, work on it for durrr two weeks then release it as paid dlc so that it fills up gamers' hard drives hur hur hurr!"

It can't be that hard to change the release date by two weeks. But hey everyone needs to make money.
