Splinter Cell: Conviction Gets a Sneaky Super Elite Bundle

Microsoft has announced that Splinter Cell: Conviction will be getting a Special Edition Console bundle as seems to be standard practice now for pretty much every high profile new release.

Previously, we've seen Forza 3, Modern Warfare 2 and Final Fantasy XIII getting the Super Elite treatment. Conviction's console bundle contents will be no different with a 250GB HDD, two wireless controllers and a standard copy of the game itself.

The Xbox 360 Splinter Cell: Conviction Special Edition Bundle will be available in North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, retailing for $399 when it releases in mid-April.

  • sick! i'd love a 250 gb
  • boooyakashaa....
  • I understand that Microsoft likes to MAKE money, but really...another elite bundle. I hope this isnt the trend with every new "high profile" game to get its own console. They should worry less about releasing these bundles and more on the games themselves. PeaCe
  • I would consider it were it not just a plain black elite. Could at least have some kind of decal that relates it to Splinter Cell in any way.
  • You missed Forza 3 from the list. What is the point in these? Yeah you get a bigger hard drive, but surely they could stick some cheap ass print on the console case for the game they come with.
  • @4 Mate!! it is to do with splinter cell!! Black = stealthy!! and the green circle well thats his goggkes...1 of... the other2 got erm .. lost!! anything else would make it stand out.. yeah im bored ;)
  • Microsoft just needs to sell the 250 GB by itself instead of all these bundles. It is a good deal for someone just getting a system but if you want to upgrade to a bigger HD is not that great.
  • If I didn't already have 3 360's...
  • It looks like any other console with a game lol. Some bundle^^
  • I'm with #4. I dont notice anything different about the console. Yeh as #6 said its "black = stealth" but some graphics wouldnt go a miss. At least 3 green dots one side, 3 red the other and the standard picture (as shown on the case cover) for the faceplate wouldnt go a miss.
  • Sorry for 2nd post *slap on the wrist* but I forgot to ask - I didnt know FFXII was having there own bundle. I know there was a CE/SE addition but is there an Elite bundle or am I getting mixed up =/. If there is an Elite bundle like said above can anyone point me to a pick/link of it. Ta.
  • Put a special edition Splinter Cell decal on there, collectors edition of the game, and possibly a special controller and I'd actually get it, but I'll stick with my collector's edition of the game and my elite.
  • It's an excellent deal for anyone looking to upgrade. But a year ago I bought the 120gb HDD, and received a new console from the RRoD, so that was my upgrade lol.
  • niceeeeeeeeee............. I dont know how I'd use up all that 250GB tho =/
  • This console is the ideal Splinter Cell console, if you get the red ring flashing, alternating with the green lights then it would give it an awesome Splinter Cell-esque effect. Only problem would probably be that you wouldn't be able to play the game.
  • I got the MW2 super elite bundle, i wouldn't have got it if it didn't have the graphics on it to show its MW2, they should definitely have some sort of graphics on it.
  • Dribble...
  • Why do this and not include the CE of the game? If you're a splinter cell fan enough to get this bundle they could easily make it 419.99 and have it include the CE instead of the regular version.
  • a custom painted machine with the trademark night vision goggles would make this great for anyone wanting to purchase it, but as patches said, if you just want a bigger hdd, it really isn't worth the money. on a side note, i sure would like to see the face plates come out as a supported accessory..
  • @7 It's funny you should say that: http://www.xbox360achievements.org/news/news-4520-GameStop-Listing-Seperate-250GB-Xbox-360-HDD.html
  • These new consoles suck. It doesn't look like this console looks any different than a normal elite, neither do the controllers, and you don't even get the limited edition of a game. This one, and the FF XIII ones are just balls.
  • Whine whine whine. At least their are options. The more bundles the better.
  • You forgot to say that there was a Halo bundle around Christmas; it came with Halo 3 and Halo 3 ODST. Don't know how big the hard drive was. Oh and Halo 3 had its own bundle at its release too, although I would prefer black over the lame green that was the console.
  • I really think if they are going to do these make the xbox look different then normal like the MW2 one did. it cant cost them that much to put a custom graphic and/or color on the console it's self
  • If the console had some kind of Splinter Cell deco on it, it would be pretty awesome. But since it's only a black elite, it fails. Last time they did this was with Modern Warfare 2.
  • Webb, Mass Effect 2 got one as well.
  • I have a weird feeling Alan Wake might get the same treatment.
  • whoa.....I'll wait for this.
  • Well looks like my girlfriend will be getting this for me!
  • For Splinter Cell? Hmm, if that's the case, Rock Band 3 better get one, which is a game you'll actually need 250gb for.
  • Already got the MW2 250GB Bundle, and it was a much better deal than this is anyways! I still want a Left 4 Dead/L4D2 special painted console!!
  • For SC?? I never really thought SC was a popular game franchise.
  • The least they could have done was make a Splinter Cell themed console. This just feels like it was put together in 5 minutes. I'll be fine with just the game.
  • This bundles crap. The 250g HD should be out Mar. 28th I think.
  • @2 Thank you, you shouldn't have. ;-)
  • It would be cool if it wasnt just a black elite with a 250gb HDD slapped on it. Ill just stick to my current black elite with the 120gb HDD and get the Collectors edition of the game.
  • I wish they would bring back that Red Console they had with RE 5. Had I the money then, instant buy! Of course including a huge hard drive.
  • @7 There are a few reasons that someone may want to upgrade especially people in Europe, firstly when stuff comes out over in the UK we generally get shafted so lets apply the usual rules a 250GB drive will cost lets say a minimum of £120, the the usual price of a game is about £40, add on the cost of an extra wireless controller £30 and your already looking at £190 so your essentially paying £60 for a 2 year warrenty with teh store (EU Product and Warrenties Directive) for any fault as well as Microsofts RROD extended warrenty. Not to mention that the new Super Elites are equiped with the Jasper Chipset and any Elite purchased before Q4 of 2009 will only be fitted with the Falcon Chipset.
  • #3 Actually, this and Final Fantasy aren't custom consoles, they're just bundles. Playstation has been doing this for a while and I'm glad to see Xbox doing it. Its just a normal 360/Elite with the game and an extra controller.
  • Why are these Special Edition bundles getting less and less "special" as more are released? The MW2 one had a custom case, which should be what EVERY special edition console bundle has. The FFXIII one just has a plain white case, but at least it has an engraved HDD and a FFXIII faceplate you can put on it. But this one? It looks just like a regular Elite! If you're not going to make the system itself custom, then at the very least you should include a custom faceplate and special edition of the game (if available). People aren't going to be buying these special edition bundles any more just for the bigger HDD once they release the 250 GB HDD separately (and come on, we all know they will). So they really need to start adding something more to these special edition 360 bundles in order to m
