BioShock 2 Now Available on the GFWL Marketplace
Written Tuesday, February 09, 2010 By Alan Pettit

Coupled with its 360 counterpart, the PC version of BioShock 2 released today. It contains all the same features, including achievements, and can be purchased at any retail computer outlet, or through the Games for Windows Live Games on Demand marketplace. It is available now for $49.99, or with Microsoft Points to the tune of 4000. Price and availability may vary by country.

And yes, the achievements stack with the 360 version, so you can earn 2000 total achievement points if you play both versions.

Definitely might do this. I have the First for PC also but never played it yet. cant argue with a good game for 2000 points. If it was anything like the first, I can nab all story achievemnts in one playthrough and use the PC version as my second... the game was good enough.

#3 why would you be upset they added mp? So if they added mp to the first the game it wouldn't be as good? You people dont make any sense

Too bad it's not available on the 360 Games on Demand. I'm barricaded in my drive by a shit ton of snow!

@10. Most people are unhappy with MP being added. Simply because most Game Developers are adding MP just for the sake of it. Look at the amount of Single Player games that have MP added just because "they can". MP doesn't work for every game, and although I haven't played the full game (played #1's Demo) i've read enough reviews to know it's highly regarded for it's story & gameplay, alot of Developers seem to pass this by when adding MP.

Always a bonus when a game you like is do-able on both PC & 360 seperately. Maybe it's time to give the Demo another shot and see if I can get in to the game :-S

I think it's really weird people would get a PC version too.

I'd rather buy a second game that was different and complete that.

Wonder when the games on demand on 360 will start to release new titles as they come out. It obviously is possible to do with this.

What a tough decision! Buy it on the super-reliable Steam... or on GFWL and get achievements on my Gamertag.... GFWL IT IS!!!

You get achievements with whatever version you buy. You do not need to purchase a game from GFWL to get achievements.

Buy the steam version.

@15 @12 @3

there were two separate developers who worked on this game. One team made the Multiplayer, and one made the single player. That means no time or energy was taken away from making the single player experience.

It's really not a bad thing at all. If you dont like Multiplayer, don't play it. Pretend it doesnt have it. If the single player is worse than it was in Bioshock 1, then don't blame the fact that there was multiplayer, because 2 SEPARATE teams worked on different parts of the game.

@#24.

I mention not being able to 1000 it with out MP...
You mention that it's about fun, not points...
I mention that it's an achievement site...

This has been done before. :P

For what it's worth, I didn't realize that the MP had a different developer. Thanks for the factoid.

First, @24, good explanation, I agree. Second, the whole 2k GS is obtained by buying BOTH a PC version and an Xbox 360 version, just like in fallout 3. When you get an achievement in either game, and look through your achievements, taking Fallout 3 for example, you will see 2 seperate Fallout 3 achievement lists. One is PC, and the other is Xbox. You can't tell them apart unless you are missing certain achievements on each one, aka your xbox one might have "Shock Value", but the PC dosent. So whichever one has the achievement would be your xbox achievements.

$99.95 on the AUS G4WL store and you can get it off the AUS Steam store for about $10-15 cheaper......i really don't see why MS bother to put the RRP on games when Steam has it cheaper haha

Well ok i understand it, but i feel sorry for the people who get tricked by MS and buy it on G4WL instead of Steam

@ 24

true there were two devs working on the seperate features, and it doesn't take away from there time, but I was discussing it with someone else in the forums and it still takes away from the games budget, and file sizes, etc. It makes a difference, but 2 devs certainly gives them a cushion.

On a better note, I've only heard one person's opinion on Bioshock 2, but apparantly the MP is a complete blast.

@2 You downloaded it illegally I bet. Should report you to the authorities.

Bioshock was awesome, but being a big daddy? Fucking lame. Big daddies were a bore after the first 5-10 you fought.

Bargin binner for sure. Just got Bayonetta anyway so I'm good to go :D

If you want to use your controller while playing the game just download xpadder. It simulates mouse and keyboard through any usb device. Also it works well with bioshock 2.

If you have a questions on it or you want a button setup hit me up on live and I'll help you out.

LOL @ people complaining about no controller support. Why on earth would you use a controller instead of a mouse in a first person shooter?

I just don't get why someone would be the exact same game on 2 different platforms? Just to get 2k in cheveos, why not just buy another game?
