Fable II and Halo Wars Gain Classic Status
Written Friday, February 05, 2010 By Richard Walker

Fable II and Halo Wars have both made their way into the Classics range from today, each retailing for the bargainous sum of £19.99 (ERP).

Anyone who hasn't actually picked either these up would be wise to do so now, especially with Fable III on the cards. Now would be a good time to discover Lionhead's first Xbox 360 foray into Fable-dom. The Fable II Classics Edition comes complete with all the Knothole Island and See the Future premium add-on packs too.

And for streamlined, intuitive RTS action on a console, you can't really do much better than Halo Wars...and well, it's Halo, innit? If that's not enough to tempt you, Halo Wars Classics also comes with a bundled bonus download card, which enables you to pick up the game's Strategic Options and Historical Battle Map packs for free. That's an additional 100 cheevo points to boot. Not too shabby.

You can get them cheaper in stores anyway... Classic status means nothin except crapper classic artwork on the front =

That's pretty good then, Fable 2 is an amazing game and so is Halo Wars so good stuff.

Anyone looking to 100% Halo Wars better check out that list first. I forgot exactly what it's called but there's an achievement for getting General rank in Multiplayer and that could take upwards of 500 hours, doing it legit.

Cool thats pretty much the Cost of DLC so it is a pretty good deal.

@9 it doesn't take that long to boost it. It's been reduced from 3,2m xp to 800k xp already.

@#9 Yeah but they updated it so it's like a quarter of what it used to be.

ANGER!!!! Just bought Halo Wars less than a month ago, albeit a fiver cheaper than this new deal, still if I want all the achievements, I've gotta pay 1600msp for maps, on a game I hardly play online...

...Not amused -.-

Might pick up Fable 2 then. I remember going to pick it up for 25 used at gamestop, but then got Farcry 2 (Possibly worst 25 bucks ever).

Or you can just pick up Halo Wars LIMITED edition (with art book and everything), for £14 off amazon >.>

Wow so they include the DLC for Halo Wars in there, while they still have it up for an absurd price on the marketplace.

£19.99? The original game goes for £10-£12 in stores.

If anyone is picking up Fable for the first time, msg me and I'll send some gold your way to get you started (and help you get the reselling achievement).

I'm sure I'll pick this edition up at some point for the extra content. It's a fun, casual RPG.

@13/14 That's just the price you pay for getting the game when it's still relatively new. It's the same with anything - prices for technological items nearly always go down (specially when taking into account the resale market) and earlier adopters always pay more.

@20 Universally most C&C fans (including me) rate red alert 3 as an abomination, and not worthy of even playing.

Anyone know if the Halo Wars Platinum Hits US edition also comes with DLC codes?

This is bull. They better lower the DLC prices, then. I've been waiting a long time to DL Strategic Options. I just gave in and downloaded the maps 2 days ago. But I won't do that with Strategic Options unless they force me to.

is this classics addition thing uk only? the platinum hits version of fable 2 here in canada only comes with 1 dlc pack not both...

What makes me laugh is they still just offer Fable II Episode I on the Marketplace instead of just putting the whole thing on as a Game On Demand. Dumbasses.

How the hell does Halo wars get classis status?

I won't bother with those. Classics messes up box art which looks ugly on my games shelves.

I already have fable 2 goty anyway.

I verified at my local store that the Halo Wars Platinum Hits comes with a download card for both DLC.
