Calling all completionists and achievement whores, this news is for you!

A good more than two years ago now, Ambition of the Illuminus, an 800MSP expansion to the MMO game mode of Sega's Phantasy Star Universe, was released and brought with it an extra 250 gamerscore to the title. However, it was only back on January 8th (yep, just three weeks ago) that the final achievement was actually achievable; an update brought about the "S2" difficulty of a mission boss that would unlock the final achievement, "Dark Falz 2 Slayer."

So why am I only posting about this now? Well, two reasons. One, I forgot since I started working dilligently on the achievements myself. Two, now would be a great time for people who would like to work on the extra achievements to start. Beginning today and running until March 11th, an event called Maximum Attack G+ will be running and is estimated to have somewhere around a 300% increase in  base experience that you might earn in other missions. Considering you need to be level 90 just to enter the final mission at S2 difficulty (which takes 6.7 million experience), you'll be spending quite a bit of time working on this. My playtime as of last night was 62 hours and I am level 87, though with the event going on it will drastically reduce that time for new starts.

To earn the extra achievements, you'll need the game (duh), the expansion (linked above) and a "Guardians License" which is bought through the dashboard as a recurring renewal and costs $10 (in the US, prices may vary by country) per month. Even without the event, I would have managed to finish it without using a second month's subscription (though you will need to spend a few hours at it every day), but the event will definitely help.
