Yesterday, at the Activate Asia Pacific conference, Infinity Ward's Grant Collier hinted at some highly exciting news for COD4 players. The news follows a good weekend for COD4 Beta players, with Level Caps being raised from 11 to 22, as well as new weapons and bonuses also being revealed.
Collier was asked whether there will be a split-screen co-op mode for Call of Duty 4, or any kind of online co-op mode for that matter. He responded, “Uh, no, I’m not really supposed to say anything about that… but I’m a big fan of Xbox Live and downloadable content.”
When asked directly whether an online co-op would be made available as Downloadable Content through the Xbox Live Marketplace, Collier grinned nervously, practically beaming as he said nothing more.
Judging by his answers, it appears that online co-op is almost certainly on the cards for the game, but whether or not it is confirmed with Activision yet may take some time to be revealed. Many things will need to be decided before it is revealed, such as price, timing and the specific content as well. It's still a big hint for 360 gamers that Call of Duty 4 will have online co-op as DLC after its November 7th release.
