Awesome now i have interest in this gameTuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 03:02 PM
Cant wait!Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 03:02 PM
Why bother making the excellent Prince of Persia, giving you an achievement stating "The Story has only just begun..." and then giving us this? Its obviously just been hashed together to make a quick buck out of the upcoming movie.Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 03:06 PM
I can't wait. To be honest, the first Prince of Persia for the 360 was the first Pop game I've ever played. I'm really looking forward to this. I loved the first one I played.Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 03:13 PM
^Sands of Time is the best by far.Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 03:15 PM
A buy for sure:)Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 03:20 PM
i agree with #4Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 03:21 PM
Meh. True the Sands of Time series ruled, but lets move on, stop trying to make just a few extra dollars by making something just because a movie is coming out. Continue with the new story, please please please.Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 03:21 PM
@4... when you have something like that to say about a game that should trend one of the best game trilogies of all time... you should try playing the game first... the new prince of persia was not only stupid, but an utter disappointment when compared to the other prince of persia titles.... this is what prince of persia games are all about, and plus ubisoft said they are going revisit the other story laterTuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 03:30 PM
I agree with #4 and #8 but not #10. #10 is clearly a Jake Gylenhaal(sp?) fanboy. It's all about money to these companies.Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 03:32 PM
looks no bad, but only time will tellTuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 03:38 PM
I'm over the Sands of Time it was a good trilogy why risk spoiling it? Try and improve the new story.Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 03:50 PM
I agree with #10Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 04:06 PM
Oh MY GOD ...ATuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 04:07 PM
A New Prince Of Persia !!! Made in QuébecTuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 04:08 PM
I've loved every single PoP game to date. To say the last one sucked is just dead wrong. you may not like it as much as the sands of time trilogy but that doesn't mean it sucked. The new game looks sick but it is a cash in. Which is fine if the game is as good as it looks.Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 04:13 PM
I would pay to play the Sands of Time Trilogy on the 360 again.Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 04:15 PM
I love all of them, but the Sands of Time series and the other series are so different. It didn't suck, it just wasn't the same. It was goo in it's own right. Shame Elika won't move, and i refuse to start a new game.Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 04:18 PM
People do know this is a movie game? This will suck.Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 04:18 PM
if this plays as good as it looks then sweet, if not then meh.Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 04:21 PM
@10 the problem with what you are saying is simple, its an opinion... Personally I enjoyed the new Prince of Persia as opposed to the Sands of Time trilogy. Yes the SOT trilogy were good, but Ubisoft created a new game and with a story, which would more likely spawn sequels. It seems a waste to go back, but I'll leave my judgement on if it is a waste until the games come out - the screens do look awesome.Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 04:23 PM
LOL at all these tools saying blah blah blah its to make money out of the movie. DUH! But who cares? If the game is anywhere near as good as the old series then It'll be worth paying for. You know, the PoP that was out before the shitty cartoon cel shaded crap? Oh thats right, you haven't played them. GG.Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 04:27 PM
#20 is right, movie games almost always suck. They made a new PoP, now they are going old school, then they are going back to the new PoP? Sounds like there is a bunch of retards in charge at Ubisoft.....I hope I'm wrong.Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 04:44 PM
@#20 and 24: Really? Movie games often suck? Breaking News! But what you fail to take into account is the rare "Good" movie game (Chronicles of Riddick, King Kong). I'm hoping the new PoP falls into those ranks.Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 04:59 PM
Key word "RARE" I personally havent played either of those games, but I have noticed that 99.9% of the time movie games suck ass.Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 05:02 PM
What most of you fail to take into account is that they already said this is NOT based on the movie. It just bridges Sands of Time to Warrior Within, hence the Warrior Within clothing.Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 05:19 PM
Funny thing is... this is not based on the movie. Its just coming out at the same time. The movie is a whole other string of the PoP story. Just like the 2008 game started a new story. Just like almost every Zelda game is not a sequel. This game is back to the Sands of Time story.Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 05:34 PM
Awesome! It looks like the others.....Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 05:45 PM
I must be the only one that doesn't like prequels or interquels in gaming. Like Halo, jumping from Halo 3 to ODST which is a prequel, then on to Halo: Reach which is ANOTHER prequel. I'll still play it, but damn is it irritating. Games wedged in between other games like this new PoP don't do much for me either. I mean it's obvious the Prince survives. We all know he saves the day or whatever the hell he ends up doing. He's in the next game!Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 06:03 PM
#28 is 100% right. This has nothing to do with the film. while i enjoyed the new PoP it didnt feel like a real game, it was too casual and the story was poor. The SoT games had amazing scenery puzzles, combat and story. I am one of the minority that prefered Warrior within to sand of time because of its darker story so i personally hope this is similar.Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 06:05 PM
Looks like a combination of lameass movie prince and emo Warrior Within Prince. Meh. I was excited they canned that crappy new PoP "reboot" with the overly Westernized Prince, now I'm not so sure. Need more info!Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 06:17 PM
I personally loved the PoP they had on the 360 and would rather have a sequel to that then a possibly shitty movie tie-in where the chances of it being good are really low.Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 06:23 PM
excellent! last one was ace and ive got high hopes for thisTuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 06:29 PM
After playing the original SoT and WW, the two thrones and 360 version sucked...Warrior Within was probably the pinnacle, though Sands is an uber close second if not tie. Although these screenies look nice, I'm on the fence about it. Making a buck off a seriously good franchise *cough halo cough* always makes the latter games iffy.Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 07:01 PM
this game looks fucking divine and I wouldn't have it any other way... wished they had continue the new storyline but remake the original series could be pretty intriguing....look damn fine if you ask me... but since Ubisoft is absolute king at making games I think this one will be sexy too.....Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 07:13 PM
The Last PoP Was Well but not alot of action Hope this has more Love killing BadguysTuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 07:32 PM
These beautiful screens have peaked my interest!!!!!Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 10:35 PM
I didnt like the next gen PoP game. . . he was just a bandit/merchant and not an actual prince. I'll be glad to return to PoP:WW since it was by far one of my favorite games of all time. :DTuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 10:45 PM
i still think sands of time is the best in the series and if this can match it its a winnerTuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 11:03 PM
@ #39: He was a prince, just one without a kingdom (or something along those lines, trust me).Tuesday, January 12, 2010 @ 11:53 PM
i always liked the PoP games, they were fun. although the one for 360 did feel a little like AC 1 with the reptitions. jake gyllenhall tho???? he's too "white" to play a "persian" if u ask me, as good as he may make it look, he otherwise doesnt fit the "prince" too well, if u know what i mean.Wednesday, January 13, 2010 @ 04:01 AM
Sand of Time was the best and this now looks similar to the original series. I've loved all the PoP games and I'll gladly add this to the series!Wednesday, January 13, 2010 @ 04:07 AM
i agree also with @4 this game is gonna be so crap just like that other one was one xbox 360, i cant even remember its name.. probably because I fell asleep whilst playing it lolWednesday, January 13, 2010 @ 04:09 AM
everybody who says that movie games dont suck, I tell you to JC's Avatar then tell me soWednesday, January 13, 2010 @ 06:11 AM
Fed up with these people who only cashed in on Prince of America, and havn't played the real Prince of Persia trilogy. shame they went with the Warrior Within style, i wasn't too keen on that, would of prefered SoT or TT, but I'll still buy it anyway.Wednesday, January 13, 2010 @ 07:57 AM
As much as i like the look of this, I reckon they should have made a sequel to the other Prince of PersiaWednesday, January 13, 2010 @ 07:58 AM
This game is not based on the movie. But it is a movie tie in. It will be released at the same time as the movie. In other words the same pressured release scheduel that plagues other movie tie ins is also represented here.Wednesday, January 13, 2010 @ 08:35 AM
oooooooooooo looks the THEE prince is backWednesday, January 13, 2010 @ 09:33 AM
i cant wait for this to come out. I didnt really enjoy the last one much because of all the orb hunting. i see the last PoP game as a work of artWednesday, January 13, 2010 @ 11:23 AM
Im really confused if anyones up for making this any clearer for me :) this looks like a film tie in, which is BAD, but ubisoft would never sell out such an acclaimed franchise, so i dont get it... oh and on Marketplace Videos, why is the font for "The Forgotten Sands" so stupid and out of place? lol minor quibble only XDWednesday, January 13, 2010 @ 12:19 PM
thank god there was absolutely nothing going for the latest one. its gameplay was godawfulWednesday, January 13, 2010 @ 01:12 PM
Just about to put PoP in the disc tray for the first time now... paid £5 for it about 2 weeks ago. But I am playing offline so maybe that's not a good idea and I should wait till I can go back on LIVE to get the updates.Wednesday, January 13, 2010 @ 07:43 PM
Ppl keep talking about being based on the movie but this game has nothing to do with it as the movie is the introduction to the Sands of Time storyline and this game is about what happened between Sands of Time and Warrior Within. (okay, you can say the game is a sequel to the movie xD) And please, stop saying you prefered a sequel to the last game then this, without knowing what prince of persia is all about, just saying this beacause it seem 90% of you only know the game that came out in the 360, it is a good game but the worse PoP I've ever played (and I played the original 2D PoP's) so grab a PS2 and play the original trilogy already! And you don't even need to reply to me, I ain't saying anything bad about anyone, just saying you should all play one of best game trilogies ever madeWednesday, January 13, 2010 @ 09:25 PM
as i said in my other comment. This game is a cash in. Its not a movie tie in but it is cashing in on the movie by being similar & releasing around the same time. But honestly... who cares? I haven't played a bad PoP so i have no reason to think this one will be different. Cant F%@#ing wait.Monday, March 01, 2010 @ 06:14 AM
the old prince is back!!
Tuesday, January 12, 2010
Genuinely sexy screens from the new Prince Of Persia title, The Forgotten Sands have materialised from out of the great blue yonder, travelling through time to make it here intact for your viewing pleasure.
They show the Prince returning to his Warrior Within stylee, rocking the old brown apparel and swinging a big, old scimitar. You may also notice that the art style and environment is very much like Warrior Within and Two Thrones.
Presumably the older visual stylings have been resurrected to tie in with the upcoming Jerry Bruckheimer-produced movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal due out at the same time as the game's current projected release date.
