Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4

LEGO Harry Potter Trailer Looks at Year 1
Written Wednesday, December 09, 2009 By Dan Webb

I've never been much of a Harry Potter fan. Actually, I can safely say I've never read a Harry Potter book or seen a Harry Potter film in my life, so this latest LEGO: Harry Potter trailer went a little over my head. I assume the scenes in the LEGO: Harry Potter Year 1 trailer below will mean something to those who have seen the first film, and for that, you'll probably be more appreciative. Maybe I should check out the films some day... you know, for "research."

Me too, never saw a film, played a game, or read a book of "Harry Potter" as I can remember, but isn't there like 6+ books, not 4? Can someone confirm this? So, I bet they're gonna make 2 LEGO Harry Potter games, greedy lil' bastards...=

@#4 Two games like they did with lego Star Wars and Indiana Jones..? Of course they'll make two. It's what they do. Surprised there's no 2nd Lego Batman yet...

You know, they did a Lego game when the first movie came out, originally. I remember my folks bought it for me.

It sucked.
It was one of those old Lego games where you actually had to design and build things on the spot, and it was crazy about the puzzling.

But with the new direction they've taken with these games, this one might turn out to be a little more fun. :)

"the magic is building" thats awesome, what a pun! Looks good so far, as long as they stick to the general idea and feel of the lego games, ill try it out.

Allright. Sweet cant wait LEGO games are fun as hell. and im past the age they are targeting really. still havent played LEGO Indy 2 but i'll get to it. and hopefully there will be a LEGO Batman 2. that'd be epic specially if they adapt The Dark Knight. it doesnt hurt to dream.

If this is going to be the same thing as LEGO Indy/Batman but with different skins and textures, screw it. They haven't gone forward since LEGO Star Wars. They just keep leaving in the same annoyances and don't do anything new and it's ****ing annoying now.

Looks good. I'm a fan of the books and I've watched the movies, but they are whatever. Lets just hope they don't screw us by giving us a bunch of collection achievements.

I'm starting to get turned off on all the Lego games, but it does seem that they are putting the same work and random humor into each new game. I have to say that Ron playing the trumpet make me smile.

Lego Batman was a bargain binner for me. This probably will go the same way.

Actually looking forward to this, could be amusing

Hmm I've only briefly played any Lego games before, and although I don't really enjoy the whole style of it all, I unlike most of you are a big HP fan. I've read all the books at least twice and only enjoy the movies for Luna and Emma Watson *drool*. Anyway I might actually check this one out if it turns out to be any good. Guess years 1-4 are one game together then? I don't seem them trying to milk out a game for each year somehow.

And looking at wich Lego Games are out...and looking at wich brick series Lego has....I assume the next game maybe a Spider-Man one...at least it's the only thing I remember that isn't lego original that doesn't have a game yet...

I love the LEGO games, and I love Harry Potter.

But, I'm not looking forward to 180+ Minikits that we'll have to find or the 18+ Red Bricks and the 18+ Gold Bricks, nor the Super Story (If they do all of this, of course).

I wonder what the different advantages to the characters will be, like in LEGO Star Wars; The Jedi had the force, Jar Jar Binks could jump really high, the Bounty Hunters could use the special doors, as could the Imperials. Harry, Ron and Hermione are all just wizards...

@56, Don't feel bad. I'll be nearly 25 when this comes out and it's a day one purchase, no questions asked. Love Harry Potter. Love the Lego games (although Indiana Jones and Batman where merely okay).

I think people who were slightly turned off from LIJ and LB don't have anything to fear. The reason LSW worked so well is it was based in a sci-fi universe and that gave the developers more freedom. IJ and Batman are license that are mostly based in reality. Harry Potter is fantasy and will work on the same level as SW. I'm sure we'll see light and dark magic (like the force). I'm hoping that we have hidden areas that only Parselmouths (spelling) can enter granted that would only be Harry and Voldemort.

I'm so freaking giddy with glee about this game. Lord I'm a nerd.

3 reasons this game should not be made:
a)capitalizing on a popular kid series like GH is doing
b)based on the movies and it can be safely said that i will only include scenes from the movies and nothing new from the book
c)we all know a year later they'll just release a Lego Harry Potter 2 with the last 4 movies (8 books in series right? not a fan) then a Lego Harry Potter TCS with all 8 movies to capitalize on it some more (as seen by previous examples of Star Wars and Indiana Jones).

Quit requesting Lego games, here's a better idea: just make a good regular game that actually pushes a next gen console to do some work and doesn't look like it could be played on a ps2.

Yes I don't like lego games, I may have played LSW:TCS but I will never be touching another one again. The only

this game might be fun. liked star wars, indy, and batman hopefully they'll keep the same gameplay. the next lego game will probably be one that they have a lot of lego kits for, i once heard about a spiderman game but who knows
