God I hope it will stay true to the last prince of persia me and my girlfriend loved art style and gameplay as well as awesome dialogues! Just add online co op ^^Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 11:41 AM
Great! Love these gamesMonday, November 30, 2009 @ 11:41 AM
i still says sands of time 1 was the best PoP game and no others will beat it.Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 11:43 AM
Film will be terrible though, right guys? I think that's something we can all agree on!Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 11:44 AM
It is confirmed that it will be going back to the original story of sands of time.Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 11:44 AM
The original series were my fav games of all time and so I'm hoping the series goes back to those 3 titles style of play. The graphics can stay but hopefully its back to the combat and style of previous games. Warrior Within dark style PoP is what I want :)Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 11:49 AM
better be able to die and fight more than one enemy...Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 11:50 AM
Hmm. I always thought that Persia was in Asia. And all along it was in Los Angeles. Weird.Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 11:50 AM
Sweet! I LOVE the series, hopefully they'll improve the battle system and bring back Sands of Time era controls, I personally would like to see the art style return from '08 too, but that probably won't happen.Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 11:53 AM
i hope he doesn't where sandals this time :/Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 11:58 AM
it's the game based on the movie based on the game. woooooMonday, November 30, 2009 @ 11:59 AM
just make it good....Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 12:05 PM
I bet this is a re-release of sands of time with a graphical update.Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 12:08 PM
@12 agreeMonday, November 30, 2009 @ 12:16 PM
If it is coming out of Ubisoft Montreal, it should be a solid game. Only question is, do I buy it immediately, or wait for the price to fall.Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 12:19 PM
I really hope the graphic has the same style as the last one. I loved it.Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 12:28 PM
If this is going back to the trilogy, then it's going to be a good game...just think they should stick to the visual style they used in the last one..the landscapes turned out stunningly amazingMonday, November 30, 2009 @ 12:53 PM
I hope this is a sequel to the Arhiman games, I really want to know how that story goes.Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 01:09 PM
I'm kinda conflicted on this one. On the one hand, the Sands of Time storyline was really cool, and it'll be interesting to see them play with that universe again. On the other hand, I really liked the latest game, and I'd like to see where they were going with that storyline. I'll be happy so long as the gameplay's good, I suppose.Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 01:11 PM
Never liked the current gen versions of the game, tried all 3 and felt hugely disappointed with each. Doubtful i'll be picking this up, but to those who like it i'm sure it'll be a good blast. Not a huge fan of games to movies either, 99% fail big time. Only one I can think of that was at least average was Hitman (barring the woman in it, hell i'm going off on a tangent!) Anyways, not my thing, but it's an Ubi game so should at least look good, the controls & gameplay, maybe not so :-S Hopefully there'll be a Demo for us to give it a quick glance :-)Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 01:14 PM
Old PoP gameplay with Assassins Creed 2 visuals and added gameplay elements. That has to be a good thing. NO MORE CEL-SHADED SHIT PLEASE!Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 01:14 PM
"i hope he doesn't where sandals this time :/" That would be cool. Prince of Persia: The Sandals of Time. Instead of a dagger he'd have time traveling flip-flops.Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 01:25 PM
I loved the Sands trilogy and enjoyed every game ..Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 01:45 PM
It would be great if they brought back the Sands of Time Trilogy prince, if they are really going back to that storyline. I thought The Two Thrones was a good ending, and I thought they were going to continue with the current gen prince. I think maybe they are going to have the gameplay more like the last gen trilogy, with the new gen prince. But if they are really going back to the prince from the trilogy, then I am down, I like him way better than the new one anyway.Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 01:50 PM
The new storyline & art style, coupled with the gameplay mechanics of the Sand of Time Trilogy is just too much of an awesome concept to turn down. Wow. This could be really good.Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 02:08 PM
I kinda wanted some closure to the last PoP game...its cool i guess cause the Sand of Times universe is still pretty tightMonday, November 30, 2009 @ 02:09 PM
Their names to their titles are never that Creative.. Sands of Time.. Forgotten Sand. SAND SAND SANDMonday, November 30, 2009 @ 02:11 PM
@22 haha pure genius you should tell Ubisoft that, considering how they insist on ruining franchises I'm sure they wouldn't hesitate to go along with it.Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 02:18 PM
i hope it wont be like the last prince of persia because it was good, but it wasn't like the old ones for the ps2Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 02:20 PM
More sands of time, less Prince of California. Honestly, they did such a good job with AC2 I trust Ubisoft again, unless Conviction bombs.Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 02:25 PM
@27 It's called a theme. Lots of series go with a theme.Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 02:29 PM
WIN!Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 02:37 PM
@27 Did you expect water? Or forests? I'm pretty sure the Persian area is basically covered in sand... welcome to 5000 BC... Anyway, I loved the latest PoP game (the dlc was a bit glitchy though), I hope they do a great job on this one as wellMonday, November 30, 2009 @ 02:53 PM
#4 - Haha, it will definetely be shocking. I watched the trailer on YouTube and it was laughably bad. I'll go to see it though, just to mock it.Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 02:59 PM
Is this one going to be the same design as the last one or will it be similar to the PS2 one ?Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 03:04 PM
OMG YES! Way excited i loved the first one on the 360!Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 03:05 PM
Now if they can only get the gay cowboy to the voice in the game. Am I the only one that's upset to see the movie prince is the whitest bread honky homeboy every conceived? Genius casting: " The prince...of persia... I got it! Jake gyllenhall!" "isn't he white?" "Yeah well, we'll send him to the tanning salon for a moth before shooting. Then we'll cg the hell out of him, it'll be perfect" Typical Disney.Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 03:22 PM
Hope they make it like the real Prince games, I'm talking Sands of Time and Warrior Within. I loved the art style of the most recent but there was no challenge and the characters were ripped out of a Cartoon Network show.Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 03:22 PM
A game dated along a movie release is usually a recipete for disaster, it has happened too many times before.Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 03:31 PM
i cant waitttttttttMonday, November 30, 2009 @ 03:31 PM
I heard that the most recent one was pretty terrible.Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 03:37 PM
Who else thinks that Tony Jaa would've been a fucking incredible PoP?Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 03:38 PM
...are we sure it's not based on the movie??!Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 03:39 PM
They better make the fighting better for this game.. the fighting was really bad in the last game and that really killed it all. It looked great, had great story, it was fun to run and jump and look at everything. But the fighitng was horrible and made me wanna quit the game att timesMonday, November 30, 2009 @ 03:39 PM
Just finished 1250'ing PoP so this makes me pretty happy.Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 04:05 PM
So this is just going to be another movie-video game tie-in? Is Jake Gyllenhall contributed his voice acting and likeness to this game?Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 04:51 PM
I wish I could be more excited about this... but the last one really tanked my view of the re-invisioning of the series, and the casting for the new movie (A non-Arab as the Prince and a chick who looks NOTHING like Farah? That's sketch) also makes me scared. I'll wait for some reviews before I buy, and I really hope it proves me wrong! Also... anyone know if there was a pack released for the original Xbox with all three of the Prince of Persia games? And if so, where could a US kid buy it?Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 04:52 PM
Well seeing as this seems like it's just going to be a movie cash-in, I do hope they continue the latest storyline in a different game since it had absolutely no closure at the end.Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 05:09 PM
despite the fact i enjoyed the original trilogy more than the last game, i would prefer them to carry on the story from the last one, keep the artwork but make the game feel more like the originals, with the combat etc.Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 05:12 PM
Co-op would be cool, but I don't see it working. If they keep it exactly like the last one, then fail.Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 06:30 PM
Damn, never played the old games, only the new one because I was told it was a new story. I hate having to start without knowing the beginning of the story. Plus I really wanted to see how the Ahriman thing turned out.Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 06:34 PM
hey, maybe for the next splinter cell, samuel jackson will be doing sam fishers voice huh? while we're at it, lets have wanda sykes be the girl from transformers instead of megan fox.Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 06:47 PM
ace, the last one was wicked!Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 07:18 PM
YAY! No more retarded anime graphics!!!Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 07:31 PM
#39 Totally agree. Movie games usually suck. Alot.Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 08:19 PM
Hopefully It's not gay like the last one that came out, they really need to go back to realistic graphics not crappy comic style graphics, 1-3 were the best 2nd one was my favorite bu the 4th one was terrible.Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 08:39 PM
I actually enjoyed the most recent.. until i got up to the final battle at the temple and the door glitched and wouldn't let me finish. That pissed me right off..Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 08:56 PM
lol yeah the last one was such a fail that i'm not even going to waste my time checking this one outMonday, November 30, 2009 @ 09:53 PM
Wait, this won't be continuing on from the 2008 game? Well fuck that, I'll wait until they release a sequel for that one.Monday, November 30, 2009 @ 10:08 PM
yo screw that man.... nothing can ever beat Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time for PC back in the 1990's.... best game ever....Tuesday, December 01, 2009 @ 12:22 AM
So the reboot with the 'Prince of California' is cancelled after one game? I think this is weird unless this new game is based on the upcoming Sands of Time movie. BTW the first ever PoP game is my favourite, and that Live Arcade game is an excellent remake.Tuesday, December 01, 2009 @ 12:28 AM
The last PoP game was alright although i preferred the first 3 PoP's the lastest one just doesnt compare to themTuesday, December 01, 2009 @ 06:14 AM
wow i will get this when it comes outTuesday, December 01, 2009 @ 08:15 AM
id rather they caryr on the story for the last game. I wanna see where the story will go for thatTuesday, December 01, 2009 @ 08:24 AM
I hope this is good. Why do people complain about the not dying thing, its pretty much the same thing, in sands of time whenever you f*cked up, the would say "Wait, no no, that didnt happen" because he was telling a story. So it makes more sense that the shiny chick saves you instead of ressurecting you in the latest one.Tuesday, December 01, 2009 @ 08:26 AM
BTW. Those 3 sands of time games werent the first ones, im pretty sure there was a 2d side scroller one for nintendo or sega.Tuesday, December 01, 2009 @ 09:30 AM
Fingers crossed that it'll be Sands of Time type action with the new graphics.Tuesday, December 01, 2009 @ 11:23 AM
if they mix the new game's acrobatics and voice acting with the two thrones' combat and a completely new storyline, that would be the best PoP I could think of. I also did not mind the graphics in the newest game, but some more realistic graphics wouldn't hurt either... as for the movie, I liked the trailer, and hope it will be as fun and crazy as the POTC movies.Tuesday, December 01, 2009 @ 12:06 PM
ya know i dont understand people you guys complain " omg i wish i could not die in this damn game" but u comment about how u better be able to die in the next PoP? WTF lol personally i loved the new PoP im a long time fan of the original trilogy but i like the new approach and if the game is going back to the sands of time wtf is Ubisoft gunna do with Elika??Tuesday, December 01, 2009 @ 12:23 PM
so wait.. to coincide with the movies release? A game based on a movie that is based on a preexisting game series? ... WORLD ENDING PARADOXES ENSUETuesday, December 01, 2009 @ 12:32 PM
according to gamespot this game is supposed to follow the 2003 sand of time story instead of the 2008 POP game... While I liked the SOT series I find it weird they would pump out a new game that doesn't have anything to do with the last game they left at an odd place story wise.Tuesday, December 01, 2009 @ 03:33 PM
The Prince sucked so bad as a character in the last game that I don't care if there is ever a continuation of that game. Any other franchise, fine go with an unbelievable actor, but not Prince of Persia. No excuse, not after Sands trilogy was so well done characterwise, yes...even Warrior Within. Warrior Within Prince > Lameass Westernized Nathan Drake Wannabe Prince.Tuesday, December 01, 2009 @ 10:23 PM
I want them to go forward with the current gen, please don't go back to the Sands of Time.... It's just a step backward. Good or bad game irrelevant, there's no denying that Prince of Persia 7 took a lot of steps forward, and away. It was good in its own way.Wednesday, December 02, 2009 @ 02:54 PM
http://prince-of-persia.us.ubi.com/ Check out the PoP website.Friday, December 04, 2009 @ 12:26 PM
@ 20 Hitman was dog shit one of the worse films I've ever seen, but then the games were do different. On topic, played and completed the original trilogy that I had on the Gamecube and loved em, haven't played newest one but just bought it so hope it will be good, either way as long as the gameplay is good I dont care where its set

At the beginning of the month, we reported that a new Prince of Persia was in development and was set to be unveiled in spring 2010. It appears that the initial reports may have confused that somewhat, and instead, it seems that the title is actually scheduled for a spring 2010 release. We presume, alongside the film.
Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands was announced by Ubisoft today and is currently scheduled for a May 2010 release. The press release is fairly vague and really offers no insight into the game, except it seems that the franchise is heading back to the Sands of Time storyline.
Apparently, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands "will feature many of the fan-favorite elements from the original series as well as new gameplay innovations that gamers have come to expect from the Prince of Persia brand." Ooooh, you've got to love cryptic press release!
Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is set for May 2010 release.
