New Project Gotham Racing Confirmed?

A Microsoft Executive, Tom Burt, who is a big player in the Microsoft legal department and proud owner of a Tesla Roadster, may have inadvertently outed the next installment of the Project Gotham franchise in a recent blog post.

Burt was writing about his experience with his new Roadster on the Tesla blog section and stated how they used it to record a series of car noises for some upcoming games. Burt writes, "A team of sound engineers from Microsoft Game Studios (some working on Forza, some on Project Gotham Racing) asked if I was willing to take my Roadster to a track so they could record a variety of sounds."

The Project Gotham franchise has been in limbo ever since Bizarre joined Activision's ranks and Microsoft never found a suitable replacement. The rumours state that Turn 10 are to work on that franchise as well as Forza, but that has yet to be confirmed.

It's hardly an official confirmation from the publisher, but it's as close as we've come to one so far. Who's willing to bet that we'll see an E3 unveiling next year with a fall release... you know, like a certain Forza game this year.

	Really liked PGR2 - 4 so if another game is on the way that is great news to me.

	I thought PGR4 was supposed to be the last Project Gotham Racing but it isn't uncommon that developers tend to change their minds.

	Meh PGR isn't the best racing title there has been. But if they are including a Tesla Roadster then it's a pass for me, since when have Electric cars been in a racing game.

	This would be cool if they came out with another PGR, but it won't be the same if Turn 10 makes it. Bizzare has to make it, but they're currently finishing up on Blur and i really hope that does well considering it was delayed. Either way, another PGR would be awesome!

	I got all four as they came out and enjoyed them all. Not really sure it'll be the same without Bizarre if that's the way it's going. Curiosity will probably get me either way.

	I myself thinks this might be Forza DLC that i know is coming DEC 8. PGR would also be good as well but, i really don't think thats what this was for.

	pgr 3 and pgr 4 are awesome and i loved forza 2 and i will hopefully enjoy forza 3. the only racing game thats exclusive to ps3(grand tursimo) and forza and the pgr series are soooo much better! xbox ftw!!!

	If Turn 10 develop it then I hope they don't make it too much like Forza. I like Forza being the GTA and PGR beig the Saints Row.

	of course it's going to look a lot like a story on another web site, it's a damn quote from a blog! Webb is totally right to defend himself. I for one would like to see another PGR, but not one developed by turn 10. As mentioned before, if another installment is to raise it's head, make it more like MSR.

	@10 & 26 They used the Tesla to record some tyre squeal samples without getting any engine noise. Saw an article (with pics) here (http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2009/11/20/ecar_videogame/) a few days ago, but didn't make the PGR connection.

	This needs to come out! I'm addicted to alot of old games right now, and PGR3 always has me coming back! I hated PGR4, It was very awkward playing it.

	All 4 have been really good, so a 5th will only extend the success of the franchise. Plus, i really like doing absurdly long drifting!

	The Tesla roadster mentioned that was used for sound testing was used in Forza 4. The Tesla was made available in the launch day DLC for all the good boys and girls that bought a new copy.

	I love PGR but why is everyone making the text so much harder to read? It's getting smaller and smaller and really difficult to read. When PGR 5 comes out please don't make it another game where everyone is squinting at the screen.
