No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise

Ubisoft Not Publishing No More Heroes in the West
Written Friday, November 20, 2009 By Alan Pettit

Yesterday I surmised that Ubisoft would continue to support No More Heroes with its upcoming Xbox 360 port "Heroes' Paradise" outside of Japan, but it seems that was simply wishful thinking. G4TV is reporting that Ubisoft has confirmed they will not be publishing this port for the 360 and PS3 outside of Japan, though they will continue to support the game's sequel coming on the Wii next year.

Hopefully another publisher will step up and offer the European and North American markets a chance at this game. As usual, if anything breaks on this front, we'll be sure to let you know.

Anyways, this sucks, I'll just have to get it for Wii.

@8. I absolutely detest people who says things are over-rated. $550 Million in sales within 5 days does not equal over-rated, it means it's popular and things only get popular for a reason, and that reason is generally that they are worth the goddamn popularity. Climb back in your hole and play Two Worlds you social inadequacy.

@10: just because a shitload of people like something doesn't make it "good" or save it from being overrated. Case in point: the fucking Twilight sequel broke the record for midnight release ticket sales. Never played MW2, have no interest in doing so, so I can't say if it's overrated myself, but I can definitely say that people are sheep and can be easily lead to spend money on anything, so sales do not automatically equal quality. ;)

@10,15 Just because you don't like something, it doesn't mean it's not good. If you haven't noticed, everyone is different and has different taste. The people that spend their money on something typically enjoy it, so to that person it is good. It's all relative, but numbers don't lie, so obviously the creators of these things you find so unworthy found their target audience, who might I add are quite happy. Get off your high horse

I would understand if Ubi-Soft didn't support 360 for whatever reason, but uh...I guess they just didn't like how the game sold on Wii? But they're still publishing the sequel so *head explodes*

So @4 paid no attention at all, and think that No More Heroes is actually Heroes... Very good.

I thought this was a brilliant game on the Wii, so I'm hoping the port does come to the UK.

@17 Thank you for someone who understands the consumer themselves and not just the outlook on the commodity.
I happily went last night to the new moon premier handed my 3.50$ (I have a friend who works at the movies) sat down and enjoyed a pretty decent movie. So no matter how many people think it's gay or stupid I enjoyed it.I can also say that I'm not gay or a virgin. I also Play COD:MW2 at least 5 hours a day so piss off anyone who has a negative opinion that they can't keep to themselves. It's all about an individuals taste.

A lot of ignorant idiotic morons here, geez. The 360 fanboyism is strong. I'm sure if you guys tried out the Wii version, I'm sure you wouldn't go around talking shit. Can't wait for part 2 to come out next year. I'm sure Ignition will pick this up, they seem to pick up real good unpopular games under their radar.

Terrible (and confusing...aren't they still publishing NMH2 on Wii?) move by Ubisoft. In my opinion, a game like this would sell much more on a console like the 360 or PS3, and would Ubisoft really have to do anything with this port other than packaging and ads? Localization for the game is essentially already done...I don't know, very confusing.

The screens are from the Japanese version. The game is still coming to 360, it's just only being released in Japan. This article is saying that Ubisoft will not be publishing an NA or EU localization.

@31 the game is about an anime fanboy killing his way through the top ranked assasians to become number one. so he can get into some chicks pants that told him she would only have sex with number one. so you hope on your motercycle whip out your beam kitana and go use your wrestleing moves to shred anybody with a number ito bloody stumps of their former selves

at #42 I don't know of any region-free JP games (at least not any good ones,) unless you're talking about Asia region games, which are not the same thing, and often those only play on JP systems as well, unless its an American-developed game.

Man, I am bummed now. I bought this game for a friend on the Wii because of the cover art (I had no previous exp. with it) and I just fell in love. It was really nice to sit there and have mindless killing, and I enjoyed the art direction (better graphics doesn't always make a better game). I do hope a publisher picks up the title

I was hoping I would be able to give this series a try without buying a Wii (why is it that no one protests about things like this?).

Could people drop this back and forth "if you love popular products, you have no taste" argument? There is plenty of space on this site to discuss your off-topic opinions elswhere.

I realize I often fly off course in my posts, but this is pushing it.

To everything saying that numbers = a good game or graphics being a factor in its awesomeness, I would like to play Devil's Advocate by using an example and testing the Modern Warfare 2 theory. New Moon just opened up in theatres and beat The Dark Knight's record for highest box office opening. Therefore, New Moon is not overrated and it can be assumed that it is good. Do you agree with this final summation? I sure as hell don't. And I'm pissed that we're not getting this version of No More Heroes as I'm sans a Wii. Sad, indeed.
