Who cares. I've had FB and Twitter on there with the Preview Program for weeks. One word for it: Ordinary. They're not well featured, don't run well, and unless you have, or go buy, a keyboard attachment it's useless typing on it.
Last.FM, whilst i haven't tried it out yet, is also a fail. It became a fail the minute they decided to have music playing in the Dash and the Dash only. Not in the bg of games. Douchebags.

| I think I used Facebook 3 times the past 2 weeks on the xbox, its a notch above useable. twitter is just dumb in my opinion to begin with, having facebook. Last.fm was pretty cool when i was doing other stuff since i could hear it through the good speakers and not shitty computer speakers, but no bg music during games was fail. I liked the instant HD trailers off off zune. its really not that big of an addition... |

@ #8, that is completely correct. I'm in the Preview Program, and I've used Twitter once, Facebook twice, and Zune not at all. Last.FM is useful if you are doing homework or something, but I've used only a few times.
I can't wait for Assassin's Creed 2, though, and I hope they don't kick me out of the game when updating the Dashboard. As I'll be home playing it after the midnight pickup. |

Hey cool, I'll be able to play those cool free flash games from Facebook on my Xbox?!?! Oh wait, it's Microsoft. I'm surprised they haven't started charging me for the privilege of turning my xbox on.
I think the reason you can't use Last.fm during games is the same reason why active downloads stop when you load up some games. I think it's just to preserve the speed of the connection in case you're playing a game online |

I agree with everyone that says that FaceBook/Twitter are pointless (maybe if the displayed new updates via a ticker while I played, or atleast didn't need to be 'loaded' to see everything) and even more so without the links to sites/videos working.
Last.fm is good for finding a few bands/song I've not heard before, though has a lot of problems; if I want to listen to music through the xbox I'll stream it from my PC, atleast I can then listen to it in game! |

so "unofficial" HDD won't work? on my "MEMORY" screen in the dashboard (scroll all the way down to system settings) it says my HDD Name: Big Daddy Spam-Ball. and i have 75.6 GB left, and then on the far right it says MICROSOFT.
My Question: does that mean it's an "official" HDD!?

| okay, ive had the update for a coupel weeks now and is it just me or is there a bunch of facwebook featuires left out that microsoft promoted? cause they were talking that you'd be able to post in game videos and all this other stuff to your facebook and so far its only status updates and pictures lol.. i knew there wasnt gonna be notifications or chat.. buit not even your message inbox? wtf microsoft. sooo anyone know if they are actually gonna put the features they promoted in the update come nov 17th cause right now it sucks ass.. although last.fm is pretty cool if youre writing a paper for school or something |

| Meh, also in the preview and most of it is just tacked on crap. Facebook and Twitter aren't too bad, but considering i don't use either, they are just a waste of space for me. Last FM isn't even available in australia, so another waste of space. Zune HD isn't too bad, being able to stream HD movies is great, but until australia gets decent broadband, it will never be used as it takes up about a half of our monthly quota just to stream one movie! |

I'm not on Twitter or Facebook and don't use LastFM so couldn't care less. Just gonna clutter up my dash with more stuff I don't want.
They should add an option to hide stuff like this in the same way you can hide the "Welcome/Tutorial" bit or whatever it's called. |

| last fm, would be cool, but isn't available in germany. zune is nothing more then videomarketplace but even slower then that was. for twitter and facebook, the feature would actually be good, if the effing xbox had an browser, cause you can't do shit with fb and twitter without browser since a lot of people link to videos and websites -> with this reason fb and twitter are a big FAIL imo |

I must say, I've used Facebook on my Xbox once, and that was to see what it was like. Painful is the word that springs to mind, you can't use any of the applications, you can change your status, look at photos, and not much else, it'd be alright as a last resort if you didn't have access to a computer, but then again, if you didn't have access to a computer chances are that you wouldn't have Facebook.
I set up a twitter account for the purpose of testing the twitter on Xbox (http://twitter.com/aki2403) misguidedly thinking that you'd be able to keep it logged in whilst in game and maybe have it auto-tweet about achievements (a la penny arcade http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2009/10/21/), alas, no, you can also only use this from the dashboard.

Zune just seems annoying and takes longer to load than my video library used to, meaning that any video you download (even the ones from marketplace) you now need to use zune to play it back.
Last.fm is another flop, in all honesty I've not bothered with this more than once, I have a huge music library (about 5000 songs) on my PC, and can easily stream these to my Xbox, and streaming from my PC works whilst in-game as well. |

| Meh. I've had the preview for a few weeks now and I've gotta say, it's not all that interesting. I'm not a big fan of facebook or twitter so those parts have been pretty useless to me. Zune is just ridiculous, it's exactly the same as the video market place that already exists, it just has more panels with less on them (although things might be a bit different when it comes out for all). Last.fm is the only part of the update that I've really used and to be honest even that's not very good. I seem to spend most of my time listening to a particular bands station only to not hear any of the particular bands music? |

| Fear not? More like fear very much... More useless, barely functional crap to bog down the dashboard with. They should have just added a single barely functional browser (like the PS3, Wii, PSP, and DS/DSi have) so that you can go to those sites and get all the content the way it should if you want it. And then the rest of us who use our game consoles for games instead of bastardized social networking don't have to deal with all the BS ads that are going to spring up after this launches. |

It's for every region afaik I've been in on the preview program, and I'm in the UK, I don't think they'd allow people in to the Beta release if they weren't able to actually change over to the "retail" release. |
