Skate 3 First Look Screens & Vid Written Friday, November 06, 2009 by Dan Webb EA and Black Box's Skate franchise jumped on to our consoles way back in 2007 and has been strutting its stuff as if it was a veteran of the skate scene ever since. 3 iterations in and the question has to be, are they running out of new ideas yet? Apparently not, the new focus in Skate 3 falls firmly on team play and before we give you our early impressions and the opinions of the dev team next week, check out the first look video below and the new screenshots in the gallery here.    | |

I blazed thru Skate 2's campaign as fast as I could so I could just free skate and not have to worry about absolutely ridiculous challenges and "GNARLY" competitions. The addition of darkslides and underflips is understandable, but I can tell you that if you went to a skatepark and started trying darkslides, you would get joked on something terrible. Add a lip-trick mechanic, alter the crooked grinds to make them more realistic, fix the "real" switch position to where your head faces down/direction youre going instead of backwards, fix the physics (not even lizard king can kickflip out of a backtail 5ft high) and fix the animations. Enhance the graphics maybe, Im not too concerned about that. |

Go online and enjoy some matches! @#14 WORD! CC rocks :) But Skate 1 was (imho) way better then THUG1 as the TH Franchise getting lamer each game since TH3. @#15 Meh?! You can say "meh" if you're not into skating in general. If you own your own deck you'd say "yay" as skate brings (mostly) REAL skating to your console. |

I haven't bought the recent Tony Hawk's though because they're not good enough. Neither I have bought any Skate games. It's good that EA names the Skate games simply with numbers and the same name although the first Skate was written "skate." but I hope they'll never give any extra names for the main series. |

I'm not a skater, though I do appreciate it, but Skate 2, especially with friends (party mode - fun track. That's all I need to say) has been one of the highlights of 2009. Skate 3 will be awesome, the step up from Skate to Skate 2 was huge and I can't wait to get online with friends on Skate 3. Oh, and whats up with the 'I hate skating, skate games are rubbish' crew? Why are you here? Why do you feel the need to post? Also, Tony Hawk hasn't been any good since 3. Those were the days... Skate is the king now baby. |
