Splinter Cell: Conviction Dev Diary #2 - Creating a Hero

Splinter Cell: Conviction Dev Diary #2 - Creating a Hero
Written Thursday, November 05, 2009 by Dan Webb

Sam Fisher is set to return to our consoles early next year in Ubisoft Montreal's latest Splinter Cell outing, Conviction.

Sam Fisher may be returning, but not as you know him, oh no. He's slightly older, has some George Clooney gray hair thing going on, he's quicker, more aggressive, but at the end of the day, Michael Ironside is returning to voice him, so the nostalgia comes flooding back. The latest dev diary takes a look at this new rogue, lone wolf Sam Fisher and talks about how he's changed into the new vengeful panther he is today.

Can't wait for this one! Has the potential to be the first good Splinter Cell game (Read: non stealth-oriented)

I don't think I would purchase if it wasn't Micheal Ironside as the voice. He makes Sam Fisher, Sam Fisher. anyone else would lead to comments like the ones about george clooney.

@ #2, the splinter cell series is a stealth series. If this game isn't about stealth and insertion tactics then this will be the worst Splinter Cell game made. Every time i see new videos on Splinter Cell Conviction I'm slowly getting more and more disappointed.

Double Agent is arguably the best splinter cell game. perfect single player and extremely fun multiplayer

Seems a pretty fast premise: Get in. Get the job done (fast). Get out.
Personally was disappointed with Double Agent..lets hope this game brings the Fisher I know from Chaos Theory..ruthless and efficient.
Still looking good though.

all the SC games have been good in my opinion but its nice to see that they have re-imagined the series...still looks like you have to plan the action out before hand but just gave the action a big boost

I've only ever played the first splinter cell, but this looks like a really good game. :)

I want this game hard and good. Loving it. Hopefully it will drop my jaw as much as Chaos Theory... but this time for different reasons.

Wow, this game looks awesome. The other Splinter Cells never really appealed to me.

Downloadable content - achievements or no achievements - will you buy it with or without them?
If the content is good, or for a game I love, I'll buy it regardless of whether chievos are included
I'll still buy and play the downloadable content, but achievements would be nice.
Who the hell cares!?
No achievements, no sale ... and that goes for any game ... whether you're GTA or Halo!
Just stop with the DLC achievements full stop ... you're ruining my completion percentage dammit!
