Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 Updated to 1250

This was inevitable. I feel that if a sequel comes out and the original had DLC achievements, you better hang on to your copy because it will follow suit. Such is the case here, though these are a bit different than I expected. It appears there will be extra levels coming with whatever DLC is on the way for MUA2. I really only expected them to offer the extra playable characters and just make up some random achievements like the first one did. Good news, I say. Unfortunately there is still no price or date announced for this, but it may be soon as an xbox.com update is usually followed closely by the accompanying DLC.

We'll keep you posted if any more news breaks, but here are the eight new achievements for an extra 250 points:

Walk It Off 35
Progress through "Insidious Alliance" without breaking any Health Containers.

Low Deductible 20
Complete "Escort Duty" without destroying any turrets.

Perfect Balance 50
Defeat 75 foes in "Balance."

Old Foes 20
Defeat "Overload" with the X-Men.

Blows Up Real Nice 40
Throw all the proximity mines in "Balance."

No One Left Behind 30
Complete "Insidious Alliance" with all four heroes alive.

Blitz 20
Defeat 2 foes within 10 seconds in "Insidious Alliance."

Hotfoot 35
Complete "Escort Duty" without disabling any floor hazards.

Only one team-specific cheevo here in Old Foes, looks like they put more thought into the DLC this time.

New levels, that's cool! And new characters... The achievements look good enough. Now they just need to add avatar prices to unlock to it.

Sorry, Avatar Awards, not Avatar Prices.
I wouldn't mind a X-Men jacket, or hero costumes or accessories. Though they probably would sell those, I'm sure Wolverine Claws would be as popular as the lightsaber (if you could only have them in other colors).

Who actually bought this game?

I couldn't see this doing well, with other (100000 times better) games coming out such as Borderlands or Brutal Legend,
hmmm well guess it did well enough to get some dlc.

Sweet! Okay, I'm pretty much sold, now. :D Just hoping these are in fact new levels, not just sim missions.
Also... an achievement for using a specific team? Ya know, that'd be a lot more impressive if a good quarter of the roster wasn't X-Men...

Fucking lame.

I am always skeptical of new content for games but this is ridiculous. With the content coming so soon after the game it is evident that they could just have put the content into the game. I am sick and tired of games coming out only 90% finished just to have the last 10% show up as DLC. I will wait for a used copy of the eventual Gold/Complete/GOTY edition that will arrive with all the content.

You should have known better... they normally add achievements with DLC now. Plus, if you find the game gay why do you even care?

@25 You gotta give him his point, man. This game did come out a little half-baked, imo. And a lot of people, even major fans of the first game, and Marvel, in general, agree with me. And if nothing else, DLC this soon *can* feel like you're paying to buy the rest of something you just dropped $60+ on.

I know the industry's mucky sometimes, but you have to admit that it would have felt better if they'd backed off the release a few weeks and made this pre-packaged. That's my point on the matter, take it or leave it.

Does no one realize that all forms of released media go though a period when the product is completely finalized and OKed to ship. The production team for video games do not just walk away from the project. They begin work on new content for DLC. They may or may not be done the DLC before the game is released. Either way, they are not allowed to add it onto the disc because the disc has again been finalized. It was tested countless times, gone though revamps, and the rating board.

Stop crying about something nice that the devs are trying to do. They could just walk away from the game and make everyone wait a year or two for a sequel or completely different game.

Companies can't affroed to put all DLC into their game at launch. they have to meet deadlines and are forced to cut somethings from theri games. stop complanig if you do not want it let the people who want it to buy it the that's why its DLC. I like how they are supporting the game early and hopefully more to come. it not like Re 5 where they made you pay for multiplayer game mode

@5: How is it "gay" that this game has DLC? If you weren't a moron you would know that the first one had DLC...kind of obvious this one would too. If you're going to complain about your completion score then get the game back and stop bitching about it.

On topic: These achievements look pretty good :)

@5, 9 & 15. I understand how you feel about DLC, and why can't it come out at the same time. I am not a huge fan of DLC that brings about more achievements, especially on a game like GTA, Gears or Left for Dead. However, NO ONE made you buy or rent MUA 2. Which also means NO ONE is going to make you get the DLC. It's true that most of us on this site are "achievement whores", and there is nothing wrong with that, but if you are going to bitch about your completion percentage, or that you didn't like MUA 2, think about it, Brutal Legend has already had DLC as has DJ Hero.

With all of that being said, I can not wait for the DLC for MUA 2!!!!

For everyone who seems shocked and appalled by the DLC coming out and how it often comes out quickly after the game: calm down and think for a second.

Game sales like everything else are down, be it as a result of the economy or as a result of illegal downloading. Is it unfortunate that companies need to sell DLC quickly after the release to hit the honest buyers up for more money? Yes. But it keeps us in games.

Everyone who wants free DLC probably also wants free games and is forgetting one simple thing: if you don't pay for something they can't pay people to make more.

If you like the game, buy the DLC and support the developers. If you don't like it, why are you wasting your time posting about it? If you don't have the game and have no intention of getting it or rentin

renting it, go elsewhere. And if all of the bitching is because you can't afford it, ask your mommy to buy it for you since every other post on here reads like it was written by an eight-year-old!

Then they should charge more for there games instead of releasing it at 90%. When I buy a game I want the fucking complete game.
Anyway my main problem is:
Most DLC is just small shit. Mostly its not even new levels just items or multiplayer maps something that they could make up fast and charge 15% of the games retail price for. They should make the content worth the money.
Sure I like most of my games so much I would get most of the content anyway but I would really prefer to see Add-ons like they where in the past(AOE2 The Conquerers, Baldurs Gate2 Throne of Bhaal, ...). Add 40-50% of content and charge 40-50% of the games retail price.
I want something to really extend and improve the gameplay, something they put efford and creativity in.
