NBA 2K10 Demo, L4D Crash Course DLC and More Now Available

NBA 2K10 Demo, L4D Crash Course DLC and More Now Available
Written Tuesday, September 29, 2009 by Dan Webb

Whether you're a sports fan, a music fan, an RPG fan or a zombie killing fiend, there should be some new content for you on the Xbox Live Marketplace today.

After the initial cock-up, the Left 4 Dead Crash Course campaign is now available on Xbox Live for 560 Microsoft points... not the original 800 it went up for this morning. Crash Course takes place between No Mercy and Death Toll and bridges the gap from a story perspective, but also offers a shorter Versus match.

Basketball fans can download the demo of NBA 2K10 from today and relive the highs and lows of the 2009 NBA Finals - which I do believe was between Orlando Magic and the LA Lakers. See, and who said I don't follow basketball?

What else can you pick up you ask?

Well you can also pick up episode one of Fable II episodes - which gives gamers who've not played it yet a chance to jump in to try it for free, and the new Rock Band DLC, including songs from Alice in Chains and Breaking Benjamin.

Can you earn achievements in the free fable episode?

I mean you can get a buttload of them in the beginning portion, unless they end it after the first part right as you "......" don't want to spoil it but people know what I'm talking about.

NBA 2K10! As if I needed a reason to buy it! I played this demo & the demo for NBA Live 10, & suffice it to say, I'm definetly getting 2K10.

From what I understand, the first Episode of Fable 2 is the childhood section. If I remember, you can get a total of three, maybe four, achievements in childhood in the full game, and since its supposed to be basically the full game, theres no reason you shouldn't be able to get those few for free.

I paid the 800 points this morning around 5:30 and they only subtracted 560 points off my account, SO it REALLY isn't 800 points they just messed it up on their website

The crash course DLC was very dissapointing seeing as Microsoft made us pay for it, I don't know how they sleep at night.

I doubt I'm going to really look at NBA 2K10, mostly cause the control scheme is kind of retarded (at least for me), so I'm keeping with NBA Live 10.

BTW you cannot earn any achievements for just playing the Free chapter. It appears in games list but when you unlock Achievements it says you need to buy chapter 2 to unlock them.

The PC version of L4D on steam is now %50 off for a limited time only. Now only $14.99 for PC (includes all dlc)

Wow 18 your an idiot, noone "makes" you buy something, it is your right as a consumer to not buy something and if you think the price is unfair. . . you SHOULDNT buy it. If enough people did that instead of forking all of their money over for achievements maybe microsoft wouldn't charge as much. I dont see how you sleep at night for being a retard and not buying l4d on pc, but thats another story

My friend got the L4D DLC and played it at lunch today.
It was very disappointing because it was only 2 maps in one level and it was really short.

i freaked at 5 in the morning today when i saw that L4D content pack at 800. glad it got fixed. still wished the new campaign was 4 chapters insted of 2 but the chievos make up 4 that. now i can buy a new song or two for rock band. :)

overall is the new L4D DLC pack worth it? or should i just wait for L4D 2?

The L4D DLC is so buggy! You can push through objects and there was a room that didn't load the visuals until you were 5 feet into it. That makes it a perfect hiding place for the infected in a versus match.

Poll

Downloadable content - achievements or no achievements - will you buy it with or without them?
If the content is good, or for a game I love, I'll buy it regardless of whether chievos are included
I'll still buy and play the downloadable content, but achievements would be nice.
Who the hell cares!?
No achievements, no sale ... and that goes for any game ... whether you're GTA or Halo!
Just stop with the DLC achievements full stop ... you're ruining my completion percentage dammit!
