Tim Browne Interview, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising

Tim Browne Interview, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising
Written Monday, September 28, 2009 by Dan Webb

There probably isn't a worse place in the world to do an interview than in a bar of a posh hotel in central London, minutes before rush hour (obviously there is, just humour me though). Maybe on the central reservation of the M1, but Codemasters wouldn't allow that for fear of breaching the sacred health and safety laws that bind the UK together. This was the scene for one of our latest interviews though - the hotel bar, not the central reservation... although it may have been quieter.

I literally ummmed and ahhhhhed about whether the interview was clear enough and of good enough quality to publish, but decided that you'd much rather have the chance to make up your own mind, rather than letting me do it for you. Obviously I'm over exaggerating ever so slightly, because that's what I do, but do excuse the rather awful background music... It wasn't exactly the ideal interviewing scenario... but we made do...

Oh, silly me, the interview is with Tim Browne, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising's Senior Game Designer if you were wondering.

Damn, there sure is a lot of background noise. But this is better than no interview, right? The game itself is looking awesome.

Tough to hear what Tim is saying, Webb do you mind summining up any new points from this interview in text form.

I'll wait till the game comes out and watch the proper review of the game, all the videos of this game so far has been the creators phrasing it.

Thanx ahead of time Webb, and if time is short, just major bullet points would more than suffice. And p.s. cannot wait for this game, loved the OXM review, especially the high re-playability factor.

Pretty bad sound man. Background noise and stuff is really irrelevant. Nice interview though, thank you.

Downloadable content - achievements or no achievements - will you buy it with or without them?
If the content is good, or for a game I love, I'll buy it regardless of whether chievos are included
I'll still buy and play the downloadable content, but achievements would be nice.
Who the hell cares!?
No achievements, no sale ... and that goes for any game ... whether you're GTA or Halo!
Just stop with the DLC achievements full stop ... you're ruining my completion percentage dammit!
