Another Modern Warfare 2 Special Edition Available for Pre-Order in the UK Written Friday, September 18, 2009 by Dan Webb If you thought they weren't milking the release of the Modern Warfare 2 release enough, think again folks. As well as being able to buy the new Limited Edition console, the Hardened Edition, the Prestige Edition, gamers can now pick up the new "Veteran Edition" from participating retailers. The Veteran Edition - which is a GAME exclusive in the UK - will set you back around £120 and will feature the Hardened Edition as well as a 12" Soap MacTavish premium statue. Sounds a wee bit expensive for a statue, right? Hey, who am I to judge? Coming next week, the Modern Warfare 2 Insane Edition that will feature Modern Warfare 2, a 60 ft inflatable Soap MacTavish "collector's item" and a genuine land mine. Only £500.

This is going to be a kickass deal and better than any statue. It's $399.99. This actually sounds like a good deal (Elite is 300 now, game is 60, extra controller is 60, headset is 15, 250 GB HDD is more than twice the size of the standard elite HDD). So not all this crap is just being pushed to get money for useless crap (like a pair of fake, crappy NVGs). |

Which just buying it from the Marketplace is like 1200 points, which is about $15. So getting the Hardened is a saving of about $5 if you were planning on buying CoD1. The only CE games I bought were Halo 3, Gears 2, Fable 2 and Stranglehold. I was a bit disappointed with Halo's LE, but Fable 2 and Gears 2 were pretty good. Developer commentaries and additional in game content is the way to go. I got the LE of Stranglehold because it was the same price brand new as a brand new copy of the regular edition at a GameStop I visited. |
