LucasArts Unveils Latest XBLA Title, Lucidity

LucasArts unveiled their newest original Xbox Live Arcade title on this week's GTTV, Lucidity.

Lucidity follows Sophie in a side scrolling, puzzle adventure game. According to David Nottingham, Project Lead, "Lucidity is a puzzle platformer game, so what we mean by that, is that it looks like a platformer but it's actually more of a puzzle game and you don't actually control the main character Sophie herself."

The game follows Sophie through these "elaborate dreamscapes" and "fancy worlds" and whilst you don't get to control Sophie, you will have to "place pieces in front of her to gain her safe passage through this dreamworld."

Nottingham and Keighley threw around comparisons to Braid and Tetris, but in fact, it's a lot more like Lemmings, but with one character, a better art style and will require quicker reactions.

Check out more at GTTV here, Chapter 3 especially.

Puzzle game by Lucasarts? I'm interested, but I'd rather they got on with releasing the rest of the Monkey Island games

they'd make more money, with less work, by re-releasing their older titles, so I wonder... why bother?

Welcome to the world of gamers - they'd rather buy games they either already own or can get for pennies on old systems from eBay than an ACTUAL NEW GAME (which yeah, could suck...but it could RULE).

The description sounds really poor but after watching the video it looks great! Can't wait for a demo on this one.

@ 25:
Quick search reveals that $40 is about the going rate for Grim Fandango. There are lots of other classic games released that would cost a decent amount if you got an original (Gunstar Heroes, Castlevania SOTN) plus you have to own the respective system.

Then there's stuff like the Genesis compilation that was released. Do you really want to spend a couple hundred+ dollars searching out rare cartridges (add hundreds more if you want the arcade machines) or would you rather pay $20-$30 or whatever on the disc?

@26, it might not be like braid, because in braid you control the main character and have the power of time, and they say you don't control the character in this one I'm going to pass on this one, bring back more classics

I heard about this game and it sounded like an original game but when seeing the actual gameplay trailer I think I'll pass on this one... Might play the demo but I'm pretty sure it's not what I expected. I really loved Braid, N+ and some other indie games. The reason it will fail is because it's not indie imo. just my 2 cents

Yes, please. Do want. Less Monkey Island games. Enough nostalgia, I've already played them. Give me original ideas!
*looks at the boiling rage in the rest of the thread*
But really, going to give this a go. :)
