Sanctuary and Crimson Glory? Tim Schaffer is my god, those are the two 80s metal bands I always knew would never be in a game but wanted them in one.
This was a must-buy for me already, but now it's moved up to a launch day purchase. |

| Metallica's exclusivity deal with Activision may have extended beyond just music games, and since Activision dropped Brutal Legend and EA is publishing it now, that would mean all possible Metallica tracks would be gone. They most likely would have been proposed, but they can't put them in due to legal issues. |

Epic setlist is WIN.
Can't strange they've ignored some of the newer more metalcore type bands (for example Avenged Sevenfold, All That Remains, As I Lay Dieing), and Power metal (which seems to get left out of virtually every soundtrack for some reason).
But apart from that I can't fault the setlist. Except maybe another Slayer and/or Anthrax song.
I have no problem with them not having a Metallica song (due to their relationship with Activision), not having an Iron Maiden song (even though the main character's name is kinda weird, but they're pretty protective of their masters (even though they have recently splurged out to EA's Rock Band)

I'm honestly not surprised that Metallica is missing given both their current relationship with Activision as well as as their previous douchebaggery regarding licensing their music.
Kind of annoyed that there's no Alice Cooper, Twisted Sister or The Darkness but there never is, so I'm getting over it. |

What the fack. Out of every Children of Bodom song they have to pick the absolute worst song from them. Why in the hell isn't Mask of Sanity or any of the songs from the "Follow the Reaper" or "Hatebreeder" album in this game. :(
At least Painkiller is in.
A lot of good songs, but sadly there still has to be crap (DragonForce).
And #21, how is In Flames commercial? They sort of strayed away on their newest album, but everything before that (and their live shows) is intense, non-mainstream brutal madness. :D
Lastly, where the hell is Iron Maiden? How can you have a game about metal music without Maiden? |

Who said SOAD? They are not a Metal band, they are Nu-Metal, regardless of what anyone in the band or otherwise says. They emerged with Korn, Limp Bizkit and all those other wannabes who thought all they needed was a semi-unique sound. If they get put in what's stopping them from putting Linkin Park or some other wacko shit on there.
I notice now it's lacks (unless I missed it, of course) a decent Canadian metal band, which we have tons of up here. No Strapping Young Lad, A Perfect Murder, Despised Icon, Voivod? SYL would fit this game perfectly... |

That is quite a few songs.... but they are all great so I guess it doesn't matter.
Anyway I just posted an iMix of all the tracks i could find on iTunes of this soundtrack. It should be up soon. It'll be under my gamertag. Can't wait for Rocktober! |

2. Features songs I don't like;

Wow you kids are amazing, so if selling millions of records and having videos on MTV doesn't make you mainstream, what does? And let me guess, Cannibal Corpse and Deicide are the best underground death metal bands right, Dimmy and Cradle and the kvlt epitome of black metal! Amirite? So you pay a visit to metalarchives once a month and you think you're a walking encyclopedia of metal?
This really is pointless since this website is for achievements and full of 16 year olds that worship Nuclear Blast (fyi thats the label for all that lamer stuff you guys love so much, at least you know who your friend is now)... |

| Also pretty funny how they put the songs with real guitar heroes on a different game than Guitar Hero. They save the pussy stuff like Coldplay and 30 Seconds To Mars and Tokio Hotel for Guitar Queero instead of putting some artists / bands on here with ACTUAL GUITAR SKILLS. Check out Racer X - Technical Difficulties, it's also in this songlist, Paul Gilbert is a guitar god. |

Soundtrack could definitely use some Meshuggah or Kyuss.
#21: That was out of nowhere, and most of us know about obscure stuff too man, what really matters is if it's more epic then Progenies by Dimmu, which I'm sorry to say, not many songs are. I wouldn't want to be listening to Entombed or something when I'm playing this game anyway, it's not that serious. |
