OMFG...Finally "smells like teen spirit" this game was a def buy for me anyways but now its 110% bought because of that one song...GO Nirvana!!! PeaCeThursday, July 30, 2009 @ 07:34 AM
Smells like teen spirit is probably going to be the biggest selling point for this game..but it's been known for a while that Rock band is going to get Lithium, Smells Like Teen Spirit, and Come As You Are eventually so there's no point in this one for me. waiting for TB:RB!Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 07:35 AM
Well it could be better and it could be worse. I would really like to see some more White Stripes.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 07:39 AM
I can't get this game fast enough...love the track listThursday, July 30, 2009 @ 07:37 AM
I've been growing tired of Guitar Hero/Rock Band for a while now, but I may actually pick this one up.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 07:39 AM
FINALLY they made a game intended for casual gamers and put good songs not the blondie pop SHIT that was in world tour. Worst GH ever.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 07:37 AM
Rammstein... why did I not know about that. Now with Megadeth, Motley Crue and Dylan think this may now be a purchase :DThursday, July 30, 2009 @ 07:39 AM
This setlist is ace. Fuck Teen Spirit, everyone should check out Plug In Baby by Muse. And One Big Holiday!Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 07:34 AM
i happen to think that this is an exciting list, will have to pick this up, once i return of courseThursday, July 30, 2009 @ 07:42 AM
Actually a really good list! Hoping Rock Band responds with some DLC to match, otherwise I'll have to pick this up, most of these tracks would be a blast to play at parties.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 07:43 AM
Queen & David Bowie? Iggy Pop? T-Rex? Thin Lizzy? Sold!Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 07:51 AM
Mmm the list is tempting, but knowing the way these Guitar Hero games go, this is all we're getting. Maybe a few track packs over the months until this game is replaced by GH:Van Halen, but besides that, I'm not expecting much post-release support.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 07:52 AM
best list since GHIIThursday, July 30, 2009 @ 08:04 AM
Stevie Wonder? Definately buying this now. And at last a half decent list with recognisable bands and songs.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 08:10 AM
How many times can a cash cow be slaughtered?Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 08:07 AM
I already pre-ordered the Beatles rock band, but now i really want to get this one too! I NEED MORE MONEY!!!!Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 08:14 AM
Stoked to see Stevie Wonder as well as the entire "Do you feel like we do? (live)" that song is like 14 minutes if its the full song. Should be awesome to playThursday, July 30, 2009 @ 08:16 AM
Rock band 2's library is better and larger than this and GHWT combined. Ill pass.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 08:17 AM
Elton Johns on Guitar hero?! I never thought that would happen. Good variety this timeThursday, July 30, 2009 @ 08:18 AM
This track list was leaked ages ago... Anyway I think the songs are definitely better than GHWT's list but still isn't that great. I have no idea know why Elton John is in this game.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 08:23 AM
Presumably 2 Nirvana songs means that Kurt will be a playable character?!?! This list is a bit meh for me...Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 08:33 AM
those are aful. smells like teen spirit and lithium are the only good songs on it.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 08:42 AM
Excellent set list, but too bad it's GH, they just never make playing these as fun as the guys from Rockband.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 08:44 AM
I think the title of the Weezer song sums up my feelings for this list.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 08:47 AM
This list really dissapoints me to be honest. I am not going to pay full price for only a small handful of songs that interest me.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 09:11 AM
Very nice list ill definitely pick this up also fun that u now can play with your AvatarThursday, July 30, 2009 @ 09:11 AM
OMG!!! Plug In Baby!!! Alright! This game is a must buy now, especially with more Nirvana, Kiss, Queen, Rammstein, Mellancamp, and Bon Jovi. What a list!Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 09:00 AM
they are trying too hard to get names that teenagers are familiar with. ive been waiting for cocaine by eric clapton and other classics with awesome solos but no...Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 09:19 AM
can't truly complain because it's a solid list, little bit of everything. i just can't be satisfied. i listen to like ten of the songs regularly but the rest i'm not going want to listen to over and over playing. want more hardcore/metal or even dlc's offering new bands that aren't pop radio shite...hangs head. still complained, lol.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 09:14 AM
bands (and their songs) that interest me in this list: 3 doors down motley crue muse nirvana queen/bowie stevie wonder billy idol billy squier bon jovi david bowie deep purple duran duran elton john grand funk railroad iggy pop kiss the police rush santana thin lizzy the white stripes wild cherry is 22/85 songs enough to buy it? cause i dont know. ill probably end up picking it up Q1 2010 used and game only.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 09:19 AM
Nice to see a lot of big songs here. I was thinking recently how it's strange there has never been a Deftones track in any of these games (to my knowledge). At least they've finally put in Rammstein though, and Du Hast at that!!Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 09:32 AM
I think its easily the weakest list yet.Already got most of the tracks I'd like on there on RB2 as DLC.I'm still sold as i love the games, but I really think this is a weak list barring like 3 or 4 good tracks.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 09:33 AM
Oh shi-! Darkest Hour! Might even pick up this game. :oThursday, July 30, 2009 @ 09:34 AM
#29 - I'm sorry but if you aren't interested in having Song 2 by Blur on one of these band games you probably aren't worth knowing...Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 09:38 AM
I shall be picking it up 2nd hand to keep money from activision just for the Sunny Day Real Estate track.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 10:05 AM
hell yes, sultans of swing is by far the best song on the game, followed by Spirit of Radio, All along the Watchtower, and So LonelyThursday, July 30, 2009 @ 10:05 AM
We are the sultans of swing...... do do dooooo do do do dooooooo!Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 10:09 AM
alot better than GHWT which suckedThursday, July 30, 2009 @ 10:04 AM
Where the fuck is Eric Clapton and Cream. I think it would be so hot to play "White Room" and "Badge". Does anyone else agree with me.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 09:58 AM
Better than I was expecting but will still probably rent. World Tour was so bad I've nearly gone off Guitar Hero completely.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 10:11 AM
The setlist is obviously much better than the last guitar hero, I am getting tired of pretty much the same game each yearThursday, July 30, 2009 @ 10:17 AM
still a rental but now looking forward to this rentalThursday, July 30, 2009 @ 10:16 AM
I was really excited about this setlist, until they released the Megadeth track. I love Megadeth, and I'm so disappointed they chose "Sweating Bullets". I've been waiting to get some Megadeth, and they let me down. At least the other tracks look good. I'll probably pick it up used to show Activision. Plus, my XBox died and I doubt I'll have the $300+ to get a new one in a month.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 10:32 AM
BLINK182 FTWThursday, July 30, 2009 @ 10:32 AM
Definatley better then the gh:wt setlist for sure, Now im even more excited for this game, My godd! This game just has alot of new featurs and sick gameplay that I'd wanna play. I love the whole party band thing, thats awesomeThursday, July 30, 2009 @ 10:23 AM
always bought every GH and RB game so this will be no exception....apart from i'm a bigger Beatles fan...been a huge fan since my dad drilled their records into my head. This game may have to wait until christmas or at least until I get back into regular work. Beatles RB takes the trophy and runs off into the distance whilst GH5 is left crying....sorry. This decision has been made because of the recession....otherwize, i'd be buying both.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 10:33 AM
what an awful setlist, only song i even like is Kyptonite by 3 doors down! wheres Killswitch engage, Trivium, Bullet for my valentine, coheed and cambria, slipknot, disturbed, alien ant farm and the rest. you know real musicians not pretenders like blink182, kaiser cheifs and kings of leon! still waiting for a guitar hero with a decent list. hmmmmm maybe GH metallica or greatest hits. theres are good.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 10:39 AM
finally Smells Like Teen Spirit! getting it just bc of that song.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 10:42 AM
I might actually consider getting this as my first 360 music game. If I have the money, anyway. There's always xmas.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 10:52 AM
Seventeen half decent tracks. I like them odds. Worth it for A Perfect Circle's Judith in my opinion.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 10:51 AM
And now this game is officially crap. Nirvana sucks. Every time I have to play that retarded song on RB2 I mute my TV.. I'm glad Kurt Cobain shot himself. Did the world a favor. I don't think I'll play this game at all.. the song selection is horrible. Guitar Hero will never be better than Rock Band in anyway, and this helps prove itThursday, July 30, 2009 @ 11:02 AM
There's some decent songs, but I want songs that I really like, not songs that I kinda like. I shall rent.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 11:14 AM
Some ok songs but not enough for me to pony up 60 bucks for it. Why can't these companies just do dlc so we can pick and choose instead of being force fed either crap songs or songs that are already released for the competition. Rock Show, 2 minutes 2 Midnight and Hungry Like The Wolf I look squarely at you....Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 11:15 AM
Despite the fact that quite a few of these songs can already be played in Rock Band, this is a pretty solid setlist. The Spirit of Radio is probably my favorite Rush song, so can't wait to play that on guitar.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 11:17 AM
looks good but i want more gud songs!, the iron maiden, children of bodom and rammstein floats my boat thoThursday, July 30, 2009 @ 11:22 AM
I'm in the RB camp but it pains me to see more and more Queen songs for GH while RB has none.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 11:24 AM
Good bands, but not the best songs.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 11:30 AM
no system of a down !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 11:27 AM
this list sucks.. the only songs I want to play is megadeth and children of bodom... and both are as dlc in rock band with more and better songs.. rock band for me.. the only god GH games was GH 1,2....Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 11:31 AM
Wow #29 you basically put up the exact list of songs I am excited about on there. If you a girl we should get married. #47: Besides Slipknot and Disturbed you could have saved your time by saying bands that fail.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 11:31 AM
Peter FRampton is God then David Bowie is just a beast And then u get to PLAY SOME FUNKY MUSICThursday, July 30, 2009 @ 11:35 AM
Oh yeah #50 I can't think of accurate vocabulary that describes how much your comment fails.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 11:42 AM
When I saw Peter Frampton - “Do You Feel Like We Do? (Live)” I think I came a little.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 11:43 AM
WHY THE FUCK DID THEY CHOOSE SWEATING BULLETS?!?!?!? Inexcusable if you ask me.....H-O-L-Y W-A-R-S!!!!!Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 11:52 AM
I'm a little surprised so many people are eating up this setlist. I think it's better than WT by quite a bit, but still not that great. I won't be buying this for $60, but probably after the price goes down.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 11:55 AM
· Rammstein – “Du Hast” I'm spent.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 12:10 PM
God dammit, they need to release some Slipknot DLC for guitar hero or RB already, it's annoying since the new album holds so much potential. ¬¬Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 12:26 PM
CHILDREN OF BODOM this is going to be sickThursday, July 30, 2009 @ 12:32 PM
SWEATING BULLETS??? Who not holy wars, tornado of souls, in my darkest hour or any other decent song? Anything but sweating bullets!Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 12:36 PM
sorry I meant why notThursday, July 30, 2009 @ 12:49 PM
I vowed to only buy more gh games when they're cheap as chips cos rb has consistently given me a lot more enjoyment, especially after gh:wt and even a perfect circle's "judith" wont sway me. IMO Harmonix won this battle a long long time agoThursday, July 30, 2009 @ 01:04 PM
Rammstein is definitely the selling point for me on this one!Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 12:06 PM
Good setlist lookin forward to playin Shout IT Out Loud!!! Wooooo KISS!!... but 2 Nirvana songs?? really?? that puts a downer on the setlist...Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 03:02 PM
I knew it! It was Brianstorm!! That's gonna be a tough one on the drums! And Smells like teen spirit is also awsome! And there's some other nice tracks too, but I will wait for the reviews. If they havn't improved the gameplay, it's not a buy. Atleast not a fullprice buy.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 03:25 PM
That is an awesome track list if you ask me! Johnny Cash, Muse, The Killers, The Raconteurs, TV on the Radio, Beck, Blink-182, Kings of Leon, Wolfmother?! That is amazing!Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 03:27 PM
F*ck yes, Sultans Of Swing. And a Children Of Bodom song finally? I was determined not to buy this game because of the series being milked, but this is a definite buy for me now.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 03:51 PM
finally more metal songs... going backt to the good old ways !Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 03:53 PM
i hate 99% of these songs i really want a new gh game like gh3 but red octane ust keeps making terrible gh games instead of wasting 60 bucks on this game ill just go buy some dlc from rock band 2Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 04:14 PM
The songs actually look pretty good, may have to start thinking about getting this again.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 04:43 PM
am i the only one super excited for brainstorm?Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 05:19 PM
The Bronx, Attack! Attack!, APC and Muse? Well, well, I'm intrigued.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 06:31 PM
I praise them for being musically diverse...but please...get some more popular bands in GH. Hope this isn't another setlist like GH4, long and incredibly boring with a few good songs.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 08:14 PM
Like weezer's song said "why bother?"Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 09:06 PM
noooooooooooooo why they have to chose bleed american, they should have done big casino instead for jimmy eat worldThursday, July 30, 2009 @ 09:15 PM
i'm sick of old songs like 60-80's. even tho their classics i know that just make a GH classics and finish them off so we can have a challenge with songs, like slipknot, bullet etc..., if your gonna have bands which are ok put their good songs in, wolfmother's best song is joker and the thief, nirvana has had 2 previous songs and now is their best and most known song.Thursday, July 30, 2009 @ 11:07 PM
alot of these songs are songs ive been waiting for to appear as dlc on rock band. guess ill add this to my gamefly queue.Friday, July 31, 2009 @ 03:37 AM
YAY MUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Friday, July 31, 2009 @ 05:02 AM
i'm just laughing at the guy who said blink 182 are pretenders lol. how many records you sold mate??? haha this is way better than world tour, no doubt about it. i won't be purchasing anything guitar hero before anything rock band, end of. activision don't deserve my money.Friday, July 31, 2009 @ 07:37 AM
Wow... why is everyone so excited for Smells Like Teen Spirit? its one of the most over-rated songs of all time, I LOVE Nirvana, but even Kurrt Cobain himself HATED that song, thats why he loved Weird Al Yankovich's parody of it... its Nirvana's only bad song, should have put something like come as you are or heartshaped box instead... I am gonna buy this, but I wish it was a different song... Also I wish GH would put less emo and pop shit in their setlists... Muse, Blink 182, Jimmy Eat World... They need replacing with Metallica, Slipknot, Bloodsimple.Friday, July 31, 2009 @ 08:48 AM
umm, jimmy eat world are amazing :/ would like to see another slipknot song on there though. i want one to play on my drums. a different darkest hour track would've been nice too, something from one of the older albums. i may pick this up if i have the money at the time.Friday, July 31, 2009 @ 09:57 AM
This is going to be epic...Friday, July 31, 2009 @ 12:54 PM
Wow.. so many of my all-time favorites songs from bands on this disc. As someone who has all of the GH/RB games.. this one I look forward to the most.Friday, July 31, 2009 @ 02:32 PM
pretty solid setlist ....bullet with butterfly wings is a favourite... but wheres the billy talent,mudvayne,3 days grace ... alexis on fire... but on the positive i hear from friends in the industry that zeppelin just signed a huge deal with harmonix... long live rock bandFriday, July 31, 2009 @ 03:26 PM
awesome, they have Scars on Broadway, I want to get the game just for that.Friday, July 31, 2009 @ 05:09 PM
Sucky list, but i'll still download it for the Wii...Friday, July 31, 2009 @ 05:57 PM
I am specifically NOT buying this game thanks to "Smells Like Teen Spirit."Friday, July 31, 2009 @ 07:03 PM
I don't know y everyone sides with Rockband all their dlc is boring to play on guitar and they nvr make the song the way it should be played and bass is always the easiest thing ive ever seenFriday, July 31, 2009 @ 08:24 PM
#50 Fucking pricks like YOU seriously need to keep your fucking opinion out of this. Anyone who says that someone should die is a fucking ignorant shit. That is why Rock Band users will never get my respect because they are as retarded as Sox fans. Tell me one time you EVER SEE Guitar hero fans go to Rock band posts and do the same shit you do. And this goes to all you dbags out there, grow a pair and keep your bias posts to yourself. KTHXBAIFriday, July 31, 2009 @ 11:24 PM
yea i agree with sticko117. all these young kids that think a game sucks because theres now metal. and by the way the setlist the only shit ass songs on here i don't like is the nirvana because i hate there overated asses. you got eagles of death metal, rolling stones, iron maiden and one of my favs megadeth's sweating bullets. its something different then having shit like metallica all the time which i like add some variety to suite everyones taste. so why argue Rock band 2 and guitar hero 5 are both great games that do there best to offer gamers music entertainment. so please stop the guitar hero sucks rock band sucks shit. can't wait for The beattles rock band and guitar hero 5 and van halen !Saturday, August 01, 2009 @ 02:01 AM
just personally i'll play it for bodom...still waiting for them to put some black metal on either rock band or GH...whichever gets to it first because i enjoy them both will have my loyalty at least, but a solid list for GH5Saturday, August 01, 2009 @ 03:27 AM
Fuck yes, we got some Iron Maiden and Megadeth on there. Not to mention Rammstein and Johnny Cash. :DSunday, August 02, 2009 @ 03:49 AM
#85: "I'm sick of old songs 'like' 60s-80s"? At least they had some TALENTED musicians back then. Not that they don't have now, just ones with a lot less 'flair', if ya know what i'm sayin'?Sunday, August 02, 2009 @ 03:50 AM
not to mention that bands like the killers and kings of leon are ones to fall asleep to, not ones to play on GH.Monday, August 03, 2009 @ 02:41 AM
The tracks to me aren't the best. There are still a lot of HUGH names I think they should.Monday, August 03, 2009 @ 02:42 AM
add to the gameMonday, August 03, 2009 @ 02:42 AM
Although Kryptonite is going to be AWESOME!Monday, August 03, 2009 @ 03:38 AM
List is pretty sad. I loved GH but Rockband has swayed me with way more dlc and a much better library. And this game will be annoying with the Nirvana "fans" who only like SLTS. RB has much better Nirvana songs.Monday, August 03, 2009 @ 05:10 AM
What a shitty list, fuck you neversoftSunday, August 09, 2009 @ 10:00 AM
Guitar Hero has become nothing more than another sacred cash cow with sickly tits, got not time for it. Big stinky FAIL!Monday, August 10, 2009 @ 03:34 PM
Here's my problem with Rammstein; while they are my second favorite band, I figured right when I heard their inclusion that any song they put in would be an English version (duh!) which suck balls compared to their original version. Never heard Du Hast in English though.Wednesday, August 12, 2009 @ 02:03 AM
Dire Straits finally! Have been waiting for it for so long. This is now a definite must buy for me. :)Tuesday, August 25, 2009 @ 07:09 PM
Finally a Johnny Cash song. I would have preferred the "Folsom Prison Blues", "Tenessee Flat Top Box" or "Cocaine Blues", but I guess "Ring if Fire" is okay... Can't wait for the game.
Thursday, July 30, 2009

Guitar Hero 5 is coming this September 1st in North America. As for the rest of the world, September is all we're given at the moment.
