| How much Halo bullshit can Microsoft spit out in one year? I'm so sick of this series. Halo ended for me after the disapointment that was called Halo 3. Halo Wars was a poor attempt at a strategy game. I mean come on, they limit you to a circuit board of a base and once it's full you can't build anything else unless you grab another circuit board to build on. @ #32, what made you believe it was an adult console? Sure, it's not as family-oriented as the wii, but there are just as many younger gamers on the 360 as there are older ones... halo's matchmaking is living proof of that ;)
as for waypoint, I think it sounds kind of neat, it's not another attempt at milking money this time, just an interesting option to look for new halo things that you might want to check out... which is where they milk your money :p |

| How is Halo milking its franchise, this isn't Activision with the 400 Guitar Hero titles or Call of Duty's, they don't release a new game each year. They have 1 game that came out in 2007 and made a few map packs for it, another game that's an RTS which was actually the funnest RTS on the console IMO. And 1 game coming out in the Fall and another 1 announced for 2010. Sorry if i sound like a dick but they seem to be doing very well for themselves, so im happy they are bringing out a place to keep up to date on the news. |

This sounds "meh"-tastic. They probably should have done this in 2007 when more people still cared about Halo. I used to play Halo 3 multiplayer all the time (loved the original Halo, but had PS2 so I never got to play it, so when I got my 360 I was finally able to get my fix), but now I'm burnt out on the series. Admittedly, I'll probably pick up ODST and may start playing the matchmaking for a bit after its release, but this doesn't really seem like something MS should be wasting time and resources on (how about pushing out NATAL sooner, fixing Netflix quality, or implementing the Last.fm and facebook [couldn't care less about facebook on 360] sooner instead of this?).
As for the flamers: back up your arguments instead of just saying "OMFG I CANT BELIEVE THIS, MS U SUXORS AND GAYLO |

The comment trail is amusing... I love seeing all the people who are trying to be cool by hating on something popular without any support for their claims that Halo is "gay" or otherwise sub-par. The best part is, they all use the same cliches and mildly witty twisting of words that make them feel intelligent.
That said, they would only be milking the series if they put out the same shit every time, a la CoD or GTA. At least the Halo games improve and vary things up a bit instead of reskinning the same old shit. |

| People are telling others who complain about halo to shut up and not bother posting but I don't think they understand. Microsoft are using resources and time to produce a possibly large scale feature based upon one series (dying series IMO) where as they could be pusing xbox facebook or NATAL even. I'm not bashing Halo here but I think MS could be doing something better with their time. |

Bleh. I lost any interest in Halo after I played through the terrible multiplayer. Badly designed maps coupled with an arrogant community of whiny pre-pubescents and older people who should be at work or with another physical being killed any kind of hope I had for the series. I thought the singleplayer/co-op was decent. It was fun to play through, but the story is laughably bad.
And before anyone complains, this is my opinion. So shut up and get over it. |

Look, i've looked at some of the comments and i've made a summary,
64% of people want this and will have their Halo-loops whilst they play this game everymorning. Though the rest? I'm with you, i want Bungie to stop making ONE DLC or game for 2 years, get some decent development/improvement.
Whoever is saying that Halo is not milking and saying stuff like Guitar Hero is milking, is just putting the spotlight off Bungie and Halo (where it should be).
lets make an summary of GH games and how they, apparently, milk, us, the consumers/customers.
GH1: Awesome start to interactive/musical gameplay, only thing, not enough tracks/needed master tracks.
GH2: Had an enormous and awesome track list, no master tracks besides John the fisherman by Primus and all the bonus tracks, but it was a metal |

GH3: Awesome improvement, more songs, more gamemodes, (Boss Battles, awesome solo's etc). just needed more mastertracks instead of Re-do's/covers. Bonus tracks were awesome, same as the second.
GH WT: Some of the tracks we're insane, and it had SINGING AND DRUMMING! ZOMFG! A lot of the tracks, although, we're duds, but i loved how you could make your own songs, but a bit confusing :P, but it was still awesome regardless. ALL MASTER TRACKS! Was expecting Led Zeppelin though XD.
GH: Metallica: Awesome, awesome to the max. Great bonus bands along with the most AWESOME songs that have been waited to be put on this game (master of puppets, ride the lightning, etc.) and they we're all mastertracks!

GH: 5: The line up of artists is going to be EPIC! I simply can't wait for this.
GH: Greatest Hits: ZOMFG, Best songs of GH1, 2, 3, 80's and ALL master tracks, i couldn't stop playing BATH by A7X and Laid to Rest by Lamb Of God. Just too awesome, full band play (with every game coming up now and forever too!)
And their might be GH: Van Halen! SHITDICK! Can't wait for some ERUPTION and JUMP!

| Halo died at the 3rd sequal, although halo wars was pretty awesome. Best halo games: Halo, Halo 2 and Halo Wars, Bungie's talent and time for the spotlight is long gone, i betcha, if they went to make ANOTHER game, it would smash their new Halo idea's, and i want Project NATAN to be a bit faster in release, and more research gone into it. | Halo is a fun game, i play it from time to time switching off between other great games also like gears of cod. In my opinion they are all great. Some people don't like certain games and some people like certain games. I for one like almost all games. So this anime is going to be pretty cool for me. |

but,
The Halo series, was a great series for 1 person shooters, if it wasn't for that a lot of people wouldn't have imaginations.
Halo wars "a bad strategy game". I admit, yes it was slightly feeble, compared with some of the newer ones that came out, but you do realise it is for people who can't see strategy and think the best strategy is "Yeh, I build biggest weapon and go pwn some noobs".
Total War series, is probably the best strategum series around, but atleast Halo made it fun for people to play without making it too serious, and they added a good storyline.
And for the people that say they are milking it. Cod has a Modern Warfare 2...a second one...okay that's not milking it? They basically do the same st |

| Up until Halo 3 i had thought MS had done a good job with the halo franchise, only releasing solid games but keeping people interested and huge sales figures, but since 3 they've just gone way overboard and like most other things that sell well, are now just milking it too death until everyone becomes sick of it, as soon as 1 or 2 of these Halo games turns out not to be 9 / 10 scoring games, people will get bored. |

| As for sequels I agree with 144, its getting really bad. A lot of companies are beginning to milk series besides EA. I understand fans of games will demand a sequel but at least change it for the better, I doubt COD4-2 is going to be less then original. I'm not saying original content is what makes a game good but it definitely is a refreshment, which is why COD4 was a good change for the series at the time and why I loved the first gears (I refuse the play the second). Original content is nice and so far all I'm looking forward to is Brutal legend and about 5 more sequels. Assassins Creed 2, Bioshock 2, Modern warfare 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Halo 3-2, the list goes on, I'm beginning to think for the next few years all we'll be seeing are rehashes of our favorite series. |
