Codemasters today announced that Ashes Cricket 2009, developed by Transmission Games, will hit stores on August 7th. In addition to the release date announcement, Codemasters also released the first gameplay video for the title which looks pretty woeful. Let's hope the gameplay in the finished product is better than the animations and visuals on offer in this latest trailer. | |

| Yep, those anamtions look very poor, i was expecting much it to be better than ICC 07. That said the graphics look pretty decent. Hope the anamations drastically improve. Codemasters should of used thir brains as well and released the game during the time of the Ashes. | ||

| Cue rant: I love cricket, i play it, watch it and just love it. Why can no1 make a decent cricket game. I am appauled at the standard of the gameplay in that trailer. It wouldn't pass the acceptable mark if it was released 10 years ago. I would rather no cricket games were released ever if this is the best they can do. Its no wonder Americans don't like cricket bcos most of their exposure to cricket will come from these quite shocking excuses for games. If a company like EA put in as much effort in on a cricket game as they do will fifa it COULD be decent, but even then im not sure. Im not sure you can comete with watching an acual game of cricket with the tension and excitement. Long live test cricket! | ||

| I cant understand why people bother to sign in to leave negative comments about sports they clearly don't understand. If you have no interest in cricket why click on a cricket link? I like the vast majority of people outside of america am bored to tears by american football - so I would not bother looking at the recently released madden achievements. If your a fan of the sport and something pisses you off about the game, then complain all you want, as chances are the criticism will be constructive. The chances are the negative comments are from ignorant yanks - you stick to your micky mouse sports and leave REAL sports to people with IQs above 45. | ||

| Wow, this game does look terrible. tbh, I have no clue about cricket, but thought I would check it out. I agree that noone should criticize a sport that they have no clue about. Therefore, I cannot criticize cricket, except for the gameplay footage. However, I can not handle anyone who criticizes American Football. Anyone who does is completely ignorant of true athleticism and cannot appreciate the strategic aspect of the game. Keep your cricket, but do not criticiz the Sport of Kings. | ||

| IMO Twenty20 was quite good to watch, players actually have to gamble and you see more action. The thing about Test Cricket is that i don't get how waiting 5 minutes for the bowler to bowl only for the batsman to leave it for about 6 balls in-a-row can be entertaining. Then there's the fact that after about 5 days play you can sometimes still not even have a winner. What the hell is up with that? Then you can have the match end in a draw just because of the rain. Cricket might be quite fun to play but to watch i just can't see how it appeals at all. Peace. | ||
