Kings of Leon Debut in Rock Band Next Week

Kings of Leon Debut in Rock Band Next Week
Written Friday, July 17, 2009 by Dan Webb

MTV and Harmonix today announced that Kings of Leon and punk rockers, Rancid, will make their debut in Rock Band next week on July 21st.

It's not all Kings of Leon and Rancid either, Rise Against are also making an appearance with their own track pack; and you can also pick up a solitary song from Lush.

Prices are as usual with the three packs (Kings of Leon, Rancid, and Rise Against) coming in at 440 Microsoft Points, or alternatively, tracks can be bought individually for 160 points each.

The tracks are as follows:

Kings of Leon “Crawl”
Kings of Leon “Molly’s Chambers”
Kings of Leon “Sex on Fire”
Rancid “Last One to Die”
Rancid “Ruby Soho”
Rancid “Time Bomb”
Rise Against “Prayer of the Refugee”
Rise Against “Re-Education (Through Labor)”
Rise Against “Savior”
Lush “Sweetness & Light”

(All tracks are original master recordings)

Rise Against and Rancid are pretty good, not great. Kings of Leon just plain suck.

Definitely snagging the KoL pack, even though I'd rather they have picked something from Aha Shake Heartbreak than Crawl. Other two packs are meh, although Ruby Soho will always be a catchy song. Rise Against are a little too self-righteous for my tastes.

Shiiiiit. That's great. Gonna get the Rise Against and KoL packs for sure. Little disappointed that "Audience of One" isn't one of the tracks for Rise though. Either way, some good choices. The best part is RB gets "Sex on Fire" before it "debuts" in GH5. Nice.

DAMN, this is a good week. Prolly won't get Ruby Soho, cuz I got it on GH:WT, but I'm totally getting the rest of the Rancid songs, and the Rise Against songs, besides Re-Education, again on GH:WT.

Rise Against suck. Kings of Leon are good

Comment #43 by II M1CK3H II
Friday, July 17, 2009 @ 12:19:45 PM

@42, typical mainstream wanker.

Anyway, Rise Against is probably the best band to offer there, its just a shame Guitar Hero beat them to Prayer of the Refugee, otherwise the other songs arent too great.

And as for Sex on Fire, i got bored after the 100000000th time i heard it on a music channel / radio / night club / randomers singing it / charv's phone. Seriously, people didnt even know KoL existed till they heard that shitty song, but that basically sums up todays society, people are sheep and wank over the bollocks music in the charts.

Friday, July 17, 2009 @ 12:20:46 PM

#42: Rise Against are awesome. OLD Kings of Leon are good.

Definitely buying the Rise Against songs.

Comment #45 by II M1CK3H II
Friday, July 17, 2009 @ 12:22:37 PM

And yeah for the record, the old KoL songs were far superior to the new shit, but every band seems to be going for mainstream crap to try and get in the charts or get more radio airtime.

but defo picking up the rise against pack good songs to play

Friday, July 17, 2009 @ 12:54:46 PM

LOL you call KoL mainstream but not Rise Against whose albums reach gold and platinum. I think your the sheep by mixing up good and hardcore. People complaining about bands being mainstream are to pussy to admit that the bands they like are mainstream, good music is good no matter how many people listen to it and it irks me when people bring up the popularity of bands. I dont like KoL and think most of the radio music sucks, but 43 needs to admit that Rise Against is mainstream to, not pigeon hole radio bands as the only mainstream things.

Friday, July 17, 2009 @ 01:04:29 PM

I always thought Crawl would make a great Rock Band track. Also, KoL's new album should be "Rock Album of the Year" at the Grammy's.

Yes, KoL and Rancid! Can't stand Rise Against though. Might pick these up, but it's gonna be hard to follow up after the Mayhem Fest pack.

Friday, July 17, 2009 @ 03:33:44 PM

I like KoL, but they only picked one good song (Molly's Chambers). Would be much better with Red Morning Light, California Waiting, or King of the Rodeo... You know, something from their older albums before they changed to a shite musical styling... (I remember seeing them in concert in fall of 2005, before they sold out big time...)

Friday, July 17, 2009 @ 03:52:11 PM

I'll get rise against for sure. I'll consider Rancid or Lush if I feel like spending more points. Kings of Leon aren't my style though.

Friday, July 17, 2009 @ 05:13:29 PM

Rise Against would be nice if I didn't already have PotR and Re-Education on something else. Savior will be nice, though. I don't have that on anything else. Kings of Leon are alright. Sex on Fire was good until it got overplayed. Crawl is very basic in its sound. It's too much of the same pitch and puts me to sleep. I like Molly's Chambers, though. Got burnt out on Rancid, so I'll probably pass on that. Might get the Lush song because it might be fun to play. Still kinda wish we'd get some more diversity.

P.S. Don't make yourself look foolish if you see a band you don't like on the DLC list. Posting "THIS BAND! OMG THIS BAND! ...that other band sucks, though." does nothing but make you look like an idiot. Just take it with a grain of salt. If it's not your cup of tea, don't drink it.

I think Harmonix needs to stop uploading songs for the sake of increasing a catalog and start putting out some songs that are technically difficult. Rock Band has so much easy garbage that people of actual skill are getting more and more bored of it.

Jackson 5 and 3 Doors Down have been listed on Wikipedia for literally the last 6 months with the release date as TBA. They are not coming soon. Sorry =/

Sunday, July 19, 2009 @ 03:40:58 AM

@#82 -

Are you a complete fucktard? Noone plays Rock Band, we leave the basements for Dungeons and Dragons. Plus, everyone that plays Rock Band does NOT think that they are in an actual band or think that they are the "Van Halen" or even the Tom Morello of this generation.

Picking up Sex on Fire though...will be cool to play at parties and shit. Although I do feel like playing PoTR...hmmmm!

Wouldn't mind all 3 although would have prefered Maxwell Murder or Axiom for the awesome bass solos for rancid. Worst pack there is definitely the Kings of Leon pack. Also

@XOX JORD XOX: Your kidding right you've never heard of Rancid. They're like pretty much the most important punk rock band state side and the artist that literally single handedly brought back punk to America.
