Ubisoft Shanghai Working on Heroes of Might and Magic 6?

Ubisoft Shanghai Working on Heroes of Might and Magic 6?
Written Tuesday, July 14, 2009 by Dan Webb

According to a recent job listing over at Gamasutra, Ubisoft Shanghai are currently looking for a "Lead Game Designer" for "Heroes of MM." Wait ... did I just say "Heroes of MM? Why yes I did, which surely has to be Heroes of Might and Magic.

The listing states that "Ubisoft Entertainment Shanghai is looking for an experienced and talented Lead Game Designer to develop a brand new fantasy RPG title for the PS3, Xbox 360, PC, and Mac." Fantasy RPG? Sounds like Heroes of Might and Magic to me.

The fully fledged sixth title in the Heroes of Might and Magic series was rumoured to be in development in 2007. Instead that turned out to be a persistent browser based MMO set in the fantasy world and nothing else came of the sixth standalone version ... until now.

The Shanghai developers are looking for someone with 5 years experience in the games industry and at "least two AAA RPG titles in a senior or lead game designer role" under their belt.

We've reached out to Ubisoft for a response, but at the time of publishing have yet to hear back. We'll mark this one down as a rumour for now and act with an air of caution, but chances are this is another inadvertent game confirmation via a job listing. When will they learn?

one was ok, number two was the best, followed VERY closely by number...and then four was awful.

but five was an epic revival and although dark messiah was a fail on 360, on pc, its a great title. im really hoping 6 sees the light of day.

a true heroes of might and magic on 360? WITH ACHIEVEMENTS!?

win...

Could be good, dark messiah was in need of a bug bash and graphics could have been better but overall a decent rpg.

I played a few of the older ones for PC and enjoyed them.. If they do this right it could be a great game. Hopefully it comes about.

I agree with #5, Heros of M&M II was the best of the Heros series...much like Might & Magic II was the best of the original series...Man how I'd love to see a Heros that played like #2 and a M&M that played like #2 also.

Downloadable content - achievements or no achievements - will you buy it with or without them?
If the content is good, or for a game I love, I'll buy it regardless of whether chievos are included
I'll still buy and play the downloadable content, but achievements would be nice.
Who the hell cares!?
No achievements, no sale ... and that goes for any game ... whether you're GTA or Halo!
Just stop with the DLC achievements full stop ... you're ruining my completion percentage dammit!
