Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition Given Suggested Retail Price Written Tuesday, July 14, 2009 by Dan Webb Whilst watching the Prestige Edition unveiling last night for Infinity Ward & Activision's Modern Warfare 2, I was hit with two emotions. Straight off the bat when I saw the goggles, I was hit with a slight feeling of elation, because seriously, who doesn't want a pair of night vision goggles!? I know I do. My second, and more overpowering feeling was more of an afterthought that really made me doubt the package. Of course, I'm talking about the price point. Quite simply put, I was sat musing to myself ... "if they're packing a set of night vision goggles in there, how much is this bad boy going to cost!?" Infinity Ward, via Twitter (I'm kind of getting sick of saying that now), responded to the price point questions by stating that the "Prestige Edition suggested retail is $149." What that would translate into pound wise makes me shudder to think at the moment, but I'll cross my fingers for a circa £100 price. Otherwise, not too bad. Too rich everyone else? Speak now or forever hold your peace. ... As far as other Modern Warfare 2 tidbits go ... - The Hardened Edition is around $80. | |

You can easily buy a great pair of NVG's at a reasonable price in any sports store. This is a marketing ploy to get people to buy something that is worth absolutely nothing except to the idiots who buy it. These are going to drastically drop in price just like the Halo 3 Legendary Edition did. I remember Gamestop here in the states dropped the price on the Legendary Edition of Halo 3 to under Fifty Dollars just so they could get rid of it. The same thing is going to occur with those dollar store Goggles. If any of you buy this and except it to be worth something down the line or actually think it's going to be cool after you own for it awhile think twice. IT'S A WASTE OF MONEY AND YOU SHOULD LISTEN BECAUSE PEOPLE THAT ARE AGAINST THIS ARE JUST TRYING TO SAVE CONSUMERS SOME MONEY!!!! |

Actually, isn't it usually like this?: Retail Price UK - £40 USA - $70 But this game is going at: UK - £45 USA - $75 So, if it's $149, that's double the price of £75. So, in English Pounds, it's gonna work out as double the UK price. £89.99? That sounds alot better. It's the cost of two games. Or: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 = £45 Call of Duty XBLA = £10 Night Vision Goggles = £35 Sounds right. |
