Todd Mitchell, an analyst for Kaufman Bros. Equity Research, today told GamesIndustry.biz that he fully expects Rockstar And Take Two to release two new GTA IV downloadable episodes in the fiscal year 2010.

 

"I would expect that there would be two more pieces of downloadable content for GTA IV, that's what has been indicated to me, although formats are unsure. It's been indicated to me that would be the case," said Mitchell.

 

Formats are currently unspecified and unclear according to Mitchell but there stands a good chance that they will look to utilise their profits and release on both the PS3 and Xbox 360.

 

Mitchell also stated that they fully expect Rockstar and Take Two to release GTA V in fiscal year 2011. Mitchell commented, "we now look for the release of GTA V in fiscal 2011, and believe IP introduced in fiscal 2010 can be turned into iterative franchises that will improve Take-Two's long-term earnings profile by lessening its dependence on GTA."

 

Mitchell went on to add, "what we're saying is Take-Two is now becoming a proper company rather than a one hit wonder. After GTA V in 2011, they can come back with more franchises and not be forced to rely on that every other year."

 

More GTA IV DLC next year? Count us in for that, especially after the impressive launch of The Lost And Damned. Remember though, you won't have to wait that long for more GTA IV with The Ballad of Gay Tony dropping this fall.
