As much as I dislike avatars because they were an obvious attempt to pull in Families and "Casual" gamers to the Xbox I suppose that on the positive side their extra money will benefit us.
If you're browsing this site I think you can define "us" by your own standards.
However, I do think that they may be taking the avatar thing too far.
Hopefully they will stick to their free game thing, (the racing one at E3), free gamerpoints are always a good thing.
And we all know the next step in avatars.
Project Natal.
With that I have to disagree with "The best controller is you", I'm fine with triggers and XBAY.

But, I think in their trailer for Project Natal they pretty much showed who their target market are.
Same with all the adverts on TV for Xbox just now, (console, not so much the actual game adverts).
Right enough, I suppose one guy sitting in a dark room would be bad for business, haha.
I know throughtout that rant I may have sounded as if I was against people who don't sink a considerable amount of time into games.
I'm not really, so long as Microsoft just doesn't neglect those who do in favour of these customers.

I normally dont post on "news" items but...
1) Kingdom for Keflings was a great game for only 10 bucks. My wife and I enjoyed it alot and thought it was a nice way for NinjaBee to use these "mini-me's", so if they came up w/ another enjoyable game using the avatars more power to 'em. And me being able to flame my wife's chick up will be awesome.
2) Speaking of "flames", WTF is going on around here?? I am starting to see alot more pointless, profanity-laced comments attached to news articles than in the past and I just gotta ask "Why?" Why is this starting to happen again, along w/ the "First" comments? These things are clearly defined as infraction worthy events, so once again, "Why?"
3) I fully support and agree w/ comments #26, 29, and 33. Avatars are just a lil piece of fun in |

Don't see why people think it's stupid because it uses the avatars.. I mean all games feature an avatar.... Master Chief, Marcus, the various people from the CoD games. They're all avatars, just someone else made them.

Hey #58, people sell stuff all the time that you don't buy. Just do like you normally do and and don't buy it, or buy it, noone cares. Noone is forcing you to buy any avatar clothes just like noone is forcing you to buy any trix cereal or a lexus.

I think they should make a game like Fight Club for your avatars. The more you fight, the better toned your avatar becomes. He eventually gets scars, and may have to wear a cast on his broken limbs for weeks at a time. Then, and only then, will rocking your avatar be awesome.

I'm sorry guys but what the hell is all this bitching about avatars?
You bought an Xbox to play games...you buy a Wii to play games. Avatars and Mii's are just a bit of fun but some people are too "hardcore" and "underground" and basically have no heart.
So...everyone who has left a negative comment on the basically AWESOME fireball, you have no heart!
