Mass Effect 1 DLC News May Come This Week

Mass Effect 1 DLC News May Come This Week
Written Monday, June 22, 2009 by Dan Webb

The second installment of Mass Effect 1 downloadable content has been a long time coming. In fact, its been too long coming. However, rumblings from within the BioWare camp suggest that news is coming this week.

Community Co-ordinator, Chris Priestly, AKA Evil Chris, just tweeted that he was "getting the feeling some news about the next ME1 DLC may be coming this week. Keep your eyes peeled."

Usually I'd say that there was too many nearly words there but BioWare did mention to us at E3 that the DLC announcement wasn't far off. And this week wouldn't be far off.

Rumours around the internet this weekend suggested that the content would release with Mass Effect and the Games on Demand service this August.

It would be great if the next DLC was the long rumoured casino style space station unless that has been scrapped.

Oh man, more ME is awesome, but I thought it was so long overdue and with ME2 soon to arrive that it wasn't gonna happen so I traded in my copy like 3 months ago! Bugger. Gonna have to find a cheap pre owned copy I think!

Wow. I really hope it isn't that Casino idea after so long.

Still, if this is being released after so long - Team Fortress 2 update may yet actually happen...? :P

Kinda late they should just be more focused on ME2 than making really late DLC for the first one.

Wasn't Mass Effect 1 supposed to get a poop load of downloads to keep the world growing? That worked out well.

I'll just wait for ME2.

All the DLC is going to be is a battle arena. At least, that is what I heard a few months ago... Just like in KoToR, but more elaborate! Achievements? Who knows if it will be in there and who knows why they are doing it, maybe to make some extra cash or to just get people playing ME1 again...

Bring down the sky was a joke. I got maybe an hour of playtime out of it, definitely not worth it if it's not bundled.

I suppose hoping for a free dlc to tease ME2 would be too much to hope for?

Bring Down the Sky was a solid DLC for just $5. I wish more DLC provided that value.

By god theres the Shepard statue! and at only $55! I must show Bioware my support by both buying this figure AND buying their upcoming DLC! Also people who thought the Bring down the sky DLC was lame I must protest that statement, Bring Down the sky introduced the Batarians into the ME universe and to those who have read the novels we know how big of a role they play.

Downloadable content - achievements or no achievements - will you buy it with or without them?
If the content is good, or for a game I love, I'll buy it regardless of whether chievos are included
I'll still buy and play the downloadable content, but achievements would be nice.
Who the hell cares!?
No achievements, no sale ... and that goes for any game ... whether you're GTA or Halo!
Just stop with the DLC achievements full stop ... you're ruining my completion percentage dammit!
