 | E3 2009: Square Enix's NIER Debut Trailer Written Monday, June 01, 2009 By Alan Pettit View author's profile |
Square Enix has just put up a website for their upcoming cavia-developed (BulletWitch) action/adventure game NIER. It looks to be quite a change from the publisher's usual JRPG offerings, but the description reminds me harshly of the game X-Blades. Let's hope I'm wrong and it captures the usual excellence that comes from our friends at Squenix.

| Nooooooo! Tell me Square didn't stoop down to the levels of a hack-and slash. These are the easiest, unoriginal, and worst games made. Make something useful like a port of the original FF Tactics! | ||

| @15 Actually I think Square's best days were the PS1, and I don't mean because of FF7. They got out 3 Final Fantasy's in a good period of time, brought us Final Fantasy Tactics, Parasite Eve, Threads of Fate, Brave Fencer Musashi to name a few. On SNES it was the glory days of Enix, both here and Japan. | ||

| Square certainly did release a ton of games for the PS1, but personally, I really only enjoyed Final Fantasy IX. On the SNES, they may not have had as many games, but they had the best in their library like FFIV, FFVI, Chron Trigger, Secret of Mana and Bahamut Lagoon. | ||
