Six Bonnaroo Artists' Tracks Make Up Next Week's Rock Band DLC

Six Bonnaroo Artists' Tracks Make Up Next Week's Rock Band DLC
Written Friday, May 29, 2009 by Dan Webb

MTV Games and Harmonix today announced that next week's Rock Band DLC will feature 6 artists from the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival.

Call me ignorant ... call me British ... or call me both, but what the hell is the Bonnaroo Music Festival? Regardless of that answer, six artists will feature in Rock Band as DLC this coming June 2nd.

The six tracks will cost 160 Microsoft Points each or can be purchased as a pack for 800 points.

The songs are as follows:

Ben Harper and Relentless7 - “Shimmer & Shine”
Coheed and Cambria - “A Favor House Atlantic”
Coheed and Cambria - “The Running Free”
Phish - “Wilson (live)”
Shooter Jennings - “Steady at the Wheel”
TV on the Radio - “Wolf Like Me”

Bonnaroo is a huge weekend music festival that started as more of a hippy/jam band festival (hence Phish), and has gone on to include more mainstream acts over the past several years (Radiohead, Tool.)

It is in Tennessee near Nashville. It certainly has a line-up to rival the British equivalents (Reading or Glastonbury.)

This years line-up makes me wish I could afford to go and take almost a week off of work.

* Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band
* Phish (2 shows)
* Beastie Boys
* Nine Inch Nails
* David Byrne
* Wilco
* Al Green
* Snoop Dogg
* Elvis Costello Solo
* Erykah Badu
* Paul Oakenfold
* Ben Harper and Relentless7
* Jimmy Fallon with Wayne Federman
* The Mars Volta
* TV on the Radio
* Yeah Y

#2, maybe by some coincidence those are two different bands that came up with the same name. Anyway, I’ve never heard of this festival, I wonder if it's in Australia?

@2 The story is correct, just a typo in the information. The second C&C is actually a C&C Tribute act, hence the 6 artists.....

Bonnaroo is really a great experience depending on the line ups. I went to the first one and a few years later to see Radiohead. I had a great time both times but it definitely wears you out. Three to four days of camping without trees/shade in the hot summer sun + a ton of smoking will make you need a vacation from your vacation. I met Les Claypool though and got his autograph at the Radiohead Bonnaroo and have a ton of great pictures and bootlegs. I would do it again but, holy shit is it tiring!! This line up does look pretty good though. Is Bruce Springsteen still headlining or was that last year because that is/was really lame!!!!

Bonnaroo's glory days have come and gone. Rothbury knocks the socks off Bonnaroo.

It's about time they came out with good coheed that was original recordings(I'm not going to by ten speed by another band, no one can imitate claudio's voice). I'm excited for wolf like me too, finally some indie rock.

@10 Are you sure? They better not make a crappy version of the best song on C+C's new album. The Running Free is an amazing song, and the Ten Speed of Gods Blood and Burial was quite a poor version.

Finally some Coheed. God I just wish they'd release In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth 3 or Second Stage Turbine Blade for RB. Hell, any of the full albums (Maybe except for Good Apollo 2, disappointing).

bonaroo is a huge US Festival, but a little of the ROTHBURY lineup would be better! Bob Dylan, Grateful Dead, String Cheese Incident, willie nelson, sts9, and many more!

Downloadable content - achievements or no achievements - will you buy it with or without them?
If the content is good, or for a game I love, I'll buy it regardless of whether chievos are included
I'll still buy and play the downloadable content, but achievements would be nice.
Who the hell cares!?
No achievements, no sale ... and that goes for any game ... whether you're GTA or Halo!
Just stop with the DLC achievements full stop ... you're ruining my completion percentage dammit!
