Next Week's Rock Band DLC: Alice Cooper and Taking Back Sunday

Next Week's Rock Band DLC: Alice Cooper and Taking Back Sunday
Written Friday, May 15, 2009 by James Parkin

Harmonix and MTV Games today announced that iconic metal genius Alice Cooper will make his Rock Band debut next week adding a six pack of songs to the Rock Band Music Store of downloadable content. Next week’s lineup also features a three pack of songs from hard rockers Taking Back Sunday.

Alice Cooper’s impressive résumé spans over 40 years of rock ‘n roll history with multiple platinum albums and chart topping hits as well as unforgettable theatrical stage performances. Blending heavy metal, vaudeville, horror movies and garage rock, Cooper is credited with inventing and popularizing “shock rock.” The father of shock rock brings six of his biggest hits to the Rock Band Music Store in the “Alice Cooper Pack 01”. Four tracks are from Cooper’s live album, Classicks from 1995: “Under My Wheels (live),” “I’m Eighteen (live),” “Billion Dollar Babies (live)” and “School’s Out (live).” The other two tracks are “Poison,” the lead single from 1989’s Trash and one of Cooper’s biggest hits, “Vengeance is Mine,” from his latest offering, Along Came a Spider.

Long Island based hard rock outfit Taking Back Sunday will also make its Rock Band debut next week offering up three of the band’s most popular hits. Deemed a consistent power player in the alternative/emo rock scene, the “Taking Back Sunday Pack 01” includes “What’s It Feel Like to Be a Ghost?,” “Liar” and “MakeDamnSure” from the group’s major label debut, Louder Now.

3 Mediocre TBS songs... MakeDamnSure is okay... Liar is repetitive and What it feels Like to be a ghost is average.

lets go with old TBS which was much better!

Agreed. That version of "I'm Eighteen" is awesome...can't wait to do it on vocals. The other tracks are classics as well.

where is all the old school rockers at? i figured more people would be happy about some Alice. the live thing is a bit of a turn off, and i've never heard of Taking Back Sunday so i guess i will wait till i see a video or two of them being played before i decide.

I'll download the Taking Back Sunday pack, but I'd much rather have any song off of the Tell All Your Friends album. I lost interest in TBS after that one.

Sorry for the double post, but Taking Back Sunday is not "hard rock". Far from it, actually.

@32 i know lol but i think rust in peace would have been a better album for rock band, not knocking peace sells, a hell of a challenge to beat all those songs on expert

Downloadable content - achievements or no achievements - will you buy it with or without them?
If the content is good, or for a game I love, I'll buy it regardless of whether chievos are included
I'll still buy and play the downloadable content, but achievements would be nice.
Who the hell cares!?
No achievements, no sale ... and that goes for any game ... whether you're GTA or Halo!
Just stop with the DLC achievements full stop ... you're ruining my completion percentage dammit!
