Was looking forward to the game as well. Ah well, If it collides with other goodies that are arriving this fall I guess it will be a purchase when price comes down.

I have both consoles... so doesnt hugely bother me... but still i would prefer it on my 360...
I dont think this is Sonys fault. All they have done is picked up the PS3/PS2 PAL publishing rights... I dont see why this would effect Atari's release schedule.
The fact that the 360 version is coming later is presumably related to a delay in Atari and them screwing the PAL region as usual, rather then Sony causing a 360 release delay... |

First Batman shifts to later this year and now no ghostbusters for UK in June. *sigh* what's left for release in summer now... sacred2 and Prototype...oh I don't feel quite so upset now, I can give each game its own quality time now
They are both to blame. Atari will still publish the "other" versions later in the year and make on it but have taken Sony's compensation payment for the loss of ps3 profits. |

WTF! Honestly I was so excited about this game due to the fact I grew up with Ghostbusters and now Sony have for whatever reason made this move?
Surely this will be to their disadvantage as they would shift more copies if it was available for the 360 also and I do have a PS3 but to be honest haven't even turned it on since xmas, releasing it on ps3 is not going to make me go out and buy it on ps3... I want to play it with friend... and not spend 3 weeks looking for them first on playstation home

| There's a difference, some people on here, between buying into something that was going to be an exclusive only (like some PS3 games, think FFXIII) and stopping non-exclusives by making them exclusive. I can't think of a time when MS has done the latter. The first would have been alright, this is just a douche move. |

Erm... So basically Atari have put Ghostbusters, a game which to be perfectly honest is looking like it's worth a play through at best, decent but unspectacular, back to the end of the year on 360, where all the bigs guns, the triple A titles are vying for your hard earned? And in return for this, it launches as planned in a quiet period on the console with the least installed userbase?
Wow, Atari must really hate money.
Secondary releases never sell, because the game is old news by then. I may pick it up when it becomes bargain bin fodder.

All that annoys me is the fact that we've been told so late. I mean i just paid off my pre-order thinking it was coming out in a matter of weeks. The game looks fun and it sucks for you guys overseas, but look at the positive side:
If the game licks balls and gets blasted in the press stateside, you won't have to waste any money on it, or can pick up a used copy for cheaper.
I know where NTSC and PAL are used, but is there anyone on this site who can actually explain to me what the hell the difference is? It seems like a universal format would be beneficial to everyone, and the language isn't a big deal whatsoever to translate for different versions.
Anyone know the deal? |

Well i think its about time PAL got the better treatment.
We always get games released late so t his is just making up for it.
I have both consoles and i'm actually happy that sony did this, pathetic xbot fanboys can go to hell. I Hate fanboys of any kind. Scum of the earth.

It would be funny if Atari only delayed the release < 1 month. I think Sony just knew the game was gonna be big so have decided they would like a slice of that super cash pie.

just to summarize what i think i understand from this, because i think some people are misunderstanding... hell i could have it all backwards too...
but the game is coming out in America and any other NTSC using country in June on both PS3 and Xbox360... in Europe and Australia and any other PAL using country, it will come out in June for PS3 only and later in the year for Xbox...
so any american bitching about anything has no need to be concerned, it's our European friends getting screwed over on this one... i do sympathize because it does seem like they get the short end of the stick a little more often... |
