Guns n' Roses' Chinese Democracy on Rock Band Next Week

Guns n' Roses' Chinese Democracy on Rock Band Next Week
Written Friday, April 10, 2009 by Dan Webb

MTV Games and Harmonix today announced that Guns n' Roses' long awaited comeback, Chinese Democracy, will be available for download in the Rock Band Music Store next Tuesday, April 14th.

The album, which many thought would never be released, is unpriced at the moment which would suggest it's more expensive than usual (got to love the art of PR), but whatever its price, I've heard it, and not sure it'll be worth it anyway.

The songs can be bought individually or as an album which will feature 13 tracks, with "Shackler's Revenge" already featured on the Rock Band 2 soundtrack. The track listing is as follows:

Chinese Democracy
Better
Street of Dreams
If the World
There Was a Time
Catcher in the Rye
Scraped
Riad N’ the Bedouins
Sorry
I.R.S.
Madagascar
This I Love
Prostitute

umm.. I'd rather see appetite for destruction on there. No thanks Harmonix

Havent heard much about this album or any of its songs. Might have to check it out. It's been far too long since any decent DLC has been released for it. Might have to wait for the upcoming Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down before i get more songs

Awaiting the price... I only have enough points remaining for a few songs, and I don't think I'll be buying any more any time soon. I haven't really paid much attention to the full album releases for RB. The only one I got was the Cars album way back when.

It's 1600 points for the album, it says on there forums. 160 per track as usual.

Probably only get a couple of the songs. I bet a few are gonna be real tough on vocals.

I haven't played Rock Band 2 since " Don't Stop Believing" came out so I'll probably pick up a few songs.

Appetite for Destruction would be in the list of albums that are just too good to ever make it on this game lol.

This is only slightly better than the upcoming Snoop Dogg's Greatest Hits DLC... yet another album I don't want.

this is honestly the worst album I have EVER listened to, and I am a huge GNR fan.

Friday, April 10, 2009 @ 12:14:40 PM

Regardless if you like GnR or this album this is a big signing for Harmonix.

Friday, April 10, 2009 @ 12:29:47 PM

It would be a big signing if they get Led Zeppelin, but it's going to be a cold day in Hell before that happens. Then again, Tool pretty much said they would never be in a rythm game and they have a couple songs in GHWT, so it's possible...

Friday, April 10, 2009 @ 12:51:59 PM

Stop bitching. Full album purchase, the minute it hits the marketplace for me.

Comment #26 by Mr Anarchy Duck
Friday, April 10, 2009 @ 01:28:16 PM

the reason for all the bitching is because it doesnt sound like old Guns N Roses cd's...If the band was named "Axle's Solo Project" or something to that effect it would get great reviews. I have the cd but I will only be downloading my favorites. Stop complaining people you don't HAVE to buy it.

I rather have AfD or a Greatest Hits like anyone else here, but I will be picking up a few of these songs either way. This isn't as bad as most of the recent DLC.

Friday, April 10, 2009 @ 02:21:34 PM

You people complain about this album but yet none of you really realize how much crap Rock Band and Guitar Hero put on their games for DLC. This album was awesome but if you don't think so then post about what songs your looking forward too not the ones you hate.

Comment #33 by Nick Is I

ill be getting Chinese Democracy, Better, and Street of Dreams. Those are the only songs on there that tickle my fancy. LoL

Remember when people waited 15 years for the most anticipated album of all time? Remember when everyone stopped caring? These two times were only a few weeks, if not days apart. Rock Band can not save GnR.

Saturday, April 11, 2009 @ 05:07:27 AM

well, im definitely gonna pick this up, we all know that it has nothing on gun´s older stuff, however, i don´t think people would bitch half as much if it wasn´t released under the name guns n roses, and you gotta admit, its gonna be hard (and fun) as hell on vocals xD

Slash without Axl ain't shit, and Axl without Slash ain't shit. So it's the same shit. Bunch of haters up in here, I for one can't wait for this. And where's my free Dr. Pepper!!

Saturday, April 11, 2009 @ 05:35:45 AM

I like the way people with no musical knowledge think they can argue how bad they think the album is. True, GnR aren't the same without Slash, but Slash never made the songs. Chinese Democracy has brilliant vocals and the "mystery and suprise" guitarists (mainly buckethead i'll add) make a lot of the song on the album better than Slash-gnr ever was.

@74: I know, I was countering people saying "oMgZ Slash is the greatest".
He WAS a great guitarist back in the day, but his latest work has ranged from average to terrible. Do I need to mention when he played with Space Ghost and Fergie?

So, people are holding onto the past for no reason, and that's irritating. Judge it properly, intelligently, contextually and one will discover that this is a grea talbum.

I'll still buy and play the downloadable content, but achievements would be nice.
Who the hell cares!?
No achievements, no sale ... and that goes for any game ... whether you're GTA or Halo!
Just stop with the DLC achievements full stop ... you're ruining my completion percentage dammit!
