Fable 2's See the Future DLC Coming May

Fable 2's See the Future DLC Coming May
Written Monday, April 06, 2009 by Dan Webb

Lionhead (as hinted on Twitter this morning) today detailed their second piece of downloadable content, "See the Future," which is set for a May release for 560 Microsoft Points.

"In “See the Future,” players will be given the chance to heed the call for a hero to restore color and balance to the world, or let Albion fall to the wayside. Those who emerge victorious will receive the ultimate reward: a quest that provides a vision of Albion’s future and what lies ahead for those born into the heroic bloodline. The fantastical new quests in “See the Future” will bring players face-to-face with new characters, creatures, events and legendary artifacts, including:

Murgo: Having first met him during the childhood sequence of “Fable II,” Murgo returns to Bowerstone Market to bring an amazing array of new wares, including potions that can transform canine companions into new breeds.

The Ghosts of the Snowglobe Quest: Holding a disturbing secret, the small model village inside it was once a real town in Albion. The people who once inhabited it are now ghosts condemned to endless torment until the shadowy threat that cursed them is defeated.

The Cursed Knight Quest: Forever banished to a land beyond the dead, the Cursed Knight awaits a hero who has the strength and will to dress up in convincing costumes, even imitating a hobbe or balverine, to save him from his fate.

The Colosseum: The Colosseum puts even the Crucible to shame. Only the greatest heroes have triumphed here. Players’ abilities will be put to the test to prove themselves in combat once and for all, to win the ultimate in prizes.

In addition, “See the Future” offers free unique items to all, including Welley’s soldier helmet and other clothing, a braided ponytail and other hairstyles, psycho Jester make-up, a new hero expression, the back flip trick for canine companions, and a collectible Murgo the Trader gold statue."

"See the Future" will be available in May for 560 Microsoft Points. We just love an excuse to get back into Albion and now we have it. Oh, and it will have new achievements before any of you ask ... more on that shortly.

560 points? Seems like an odd number.

Huh? 560 points? Did they toss a dart at a dartboard full of point costs and get that?

All the same, I'll get it. Looks interesting.

The Cursed Knight Quest sounds like it would be cool, until you read the description. Looks like another DLC letdown.

560, while seeming like an odd number divides out into $7. Which I suppose is an odd price, but it's better then $10.

I wanna get this game....

I like when developers support their games with DLC long after their release.

Better than 800 points.

Well, I guess 560MSP is better than the 800MSP for the 2 hour long Knothole Island, since this one will no probably be just as short. Still gonna get it, I hate having 100% then losing it.

"psycho Jester make-up"
Yay! *sarcasim* Now all the kids that think they're the joker with their avatars can do the same in the world of Albion. Could the "creative minds" at Lionhead be any more lame and mainstream?

It's not the first to be 560 points. The DLC for Scene It: BOS is also 560.

Here's to hoping this DLC isn't as short as the Knothole Island!

Monday, April 06, 2009 @ 02:09:37 PM

again it sounds a bit short... I hope it will not be played through in one sitting, like knothole. And also I hope the Collosseum better be extremely hard. I already played Fable through thrice and did never come anywhere near dying or being knocked out - and that somehow feels pathetic...

on the other hand - 560 points finally is a fair price for an addon. I will get this one.

Does anyone know if this DLC contains ALL the expressions you would get if you bought the pub games from Xbox Live?

It says in the release that it has the dog 'backflip', but there is another hero expression in the pub games isn't there?

I'd be pissed if it gives away the backflip and hat, headband, and mustache expressions for free. I spent $10 and many hours of trying to win the tournaments and now they just "give them away"? BS.

Anywho, new DLC looks cool. Definatly gonna buy it =)

Downloadable content - achievements or no achievements - will you buy it with or without them?
If the content is good, or for a game I love, I'll buy it regardless of whether chievos are included
I'll still buy and play the downloadable content, but achievements would be nice.
Who the hell cares!?
No achievements, no sale ... and that goes for any game ... whether you're GTA or Halo!
Just stop with the DLC achievements full stop ... you're ruining my completion percentage dammit!
