More Gears of War 2 DLC Announcements Close? Written Tuesday, March 24, 2009 by Dan Webb With the Game Developers Conference going on in San Francisco this week, rumours are part and parcel of the whole event. Today's rumour exists on so many different levels that you know something must be cooking. In a rebuttle to Variety saying they were not expecting Gears of War 2 level announcements at GDC, Geoff Keighley, a Gametrailers regular, tweeted the following response: "Interesting to see Variety expecting no Gears of War-2 level announcements at GDC. They are wrong. Stay tuned." On its own, it wouldn't be clear what it was, but thanks to an attentive Gears of War 2 forum user (thread now deleted) who spotted an Asian product page (below), you'd put two and two together and get ... the Dark Corners DLC pack. I share the Kotaku view on this one and that is that releasing another map pack so close to the Snowblind Map Pack wouldn't be good business, so for all intent and purposes, could we be right to assume that Dark Corners is in fact the promised single player DLC that has been long rumoured? At the moment, we'll stamp this with a rumour tag, but don't be surprised if you hear Dark Corners announced soon whatever it may be.
