Gears of War 2 Updated to 1425 Written Thursday, March 19, 2009 by Alan Pettit In preparation for Title Update 3 coming March 24th and the Snowblind Map Pack coming March 31st, Gears of War 2 has now been updated with an additional 9 achievements for a grand total of 1425. For more information on TU3, Snowblind and these achievements, see the announcement article we ran last week. Please note: Whenever we add DLC achievements to a game, the checklist for the game will be broken to anyone who was using it before the additions. We do not know the cause, but to fix the glitch, simply delete the checklist (hit the Red X from the "My Achievements" link) and then re-enable and re-check your achievements. We apologize for this inconvenience.

It got me interested in putting the game back in my xbox and playing it. I have cared less and less about my gamerscore since I reached 100k. But for some reason now I want to try and complete Gears 2. It's given me hope that I will enjoy Gears 2 cause it really let me down and I know I'm not the only one. If I complete it or not, I really don't care. If they keep adding achievements it will give me more of a reason to keep playing. that's if I'm happy with TU3. These achievements are not the best, but I'm not really worried about them. I get them, good. I don't, oh well. Games are suppose to be fun, so anything that keeps the game fun I'm all for. But then GOW2 came out and it majorly flopped, and most who bought it started returning the game. Now it is the time for the second DLC and will meet the fate of the first DLC. A third one will be released thinking they cane actually fix the unfix-able. It won't be impossible, but, as with RPGs, the higher your level, the harder it is to level up. Slow but sure. It's kind of a gimmick to keep people playing until they get to 100, which is sure to take a while, so they don't feel like the game sucks as bad as nearly everyone agrees it does. Regardless, these are time-consuming, but not impossible, which I prefer in achievements. Give me something that an average person can do (just taking longer), instead of something you have to be a god among men to pull off... |

BTW achievements that deal with rank are a load of bull and a waste of time, games like Gears, Halo, and anything Tom Clancy related are bad for this. |

This is the problem they feed on our acheivement whore instincts and they know we can't refuse especially if we're a fan of the series as I am and I know many 360 owners are. These don't seem too difficult, time consuming of course and you have to withstand the torture of the online community. But all in all if they patch up the problems hopefully the game won't be disgusting going for these. |
