Lionhead Comfirms More Fable 2 DLC

Lionhead Comfirms More Fable 2 DLC
Written Thursday, March 12, 2009 by Alan Pettit

This isn't really something we didn't see coming. When a company uses only 100 of their available 250 DLC-based achievement points (or is 750, 300 or some other number now?), we kind of expect some more. Especially with these big games as I suppose Fable could be classified.

The latest blog post on Lionhead's site answers the question "will there be any more DLC for Fable II" with a simple "Yes."

Geez, thanks for the info, guys. At any rate, there you have it, more Fable 2 DLC on the way.

Fable 2, the last game I played 'till the infamous RROD showed up... curses!

Well, I still like to hang around and doing absolutely nothing in Fable 2 occasionally, I'll be looking forward to this!

You forgot to include a release date so they can push it back another 2 months. Turtle head = when a poop log pokes his head out and goes back in. Lionhead = a poop log that roars on out no matter how hard you try to cage the beast!

Thursday, March 12, 2009 @ 03:17:14 PM

Hopefully this one will not suck. They should go Shivering Isles, or rather, The Northern Wastes style with it. A big expansion like Fable: The lost chapters. Hang the price.

Thursday, March 12, 2009 @ 03:53:03 PM

You people are fucking idiots. Everything people bitched and moaned about in the original game was fixed in the DLC. Don't want to eat celery to lose weight? Use a weight loss potion. Can't take augments out? Use the new augment remover or whatever its called. The DLC length was fine. My only problem was that it was predictable. Just because you all expected it to be another Shivering Isles and it wasn't you're all pissed at Lionhead over it. Get the fuck over it. Personally, I don't think I've ever regreted a purchase of anything more than I have with Fallout 3, which everyone for some reason loves so damn much. A buggy game that freezes everytime I try to play it is not what I had in mind. Not to mention the DLC was as expensive as Knothole Island, yet it took me more than an hour and a

I'm sure I'll get it when it comes out. I just hope it's longer/better than Knothole Island. Clocking 2 hours tops for $10 is a little ridiculous... Seems to be the standard with DLC lately though.

Thursday, March 12, 2009 @ 03:53:24 PM

I actually enjoyed Knothole. It wasn't a huge quest, but the trading, armour and different weather effects were great. Not to mention the new potions that you could use on yourself. It wasn't awesome (like say Bethesda's DLC) but it was still a fairly solid experience.

Your opinion matters much more when you speak calmly and don't insult or attack others for their opinions. When you go off like you did not only do you risk being banned, but you totally discredit yourself.
This is just some advice, take it or leave it, it's up to you.

Thursday, March 12, 2009 @ 04:28:48 PM

Frankly, I don't understand the appeal of Fable II, especially when you have Fallout 3 or even Oblivion instead. I know this is personal opinion, but I didn't find a single thing in Fable II that hooked me to want to play past the end of the main quest.

Knothole island wasn't great, but I did like playing it as I went through the game. I can see how much it would suck finishing the game and coming back months later to pay 800 points and then complete a short simplistic missions...but then again, what did people except? None of the game's missions were all that difficult or deep.

Thursday, March 12, 2009 @ 04:57:58 PM

I'll definitely wait for some reviews on it no matter what. I personally felt like I wasted my MS Points on Knothole island. I paid to shoot orbs back and forth for 3 hours.
Concept cool, beautiful map, extras were neat, but the orb thing, I will never forgive them for that. There was no creativity there at all.

Thursday, March 12, 2009 @ 05:07:03 PM

The only reason I'd buy the DLC for this game is achievements, big disappointment in a lot of areas. I know Lionhead put their heart and soul into this game but it still wasn't that great of a game(very over-rated), just a RPG that anyone could get into easily(unlike spending 20+ hours watching cut scenes in any newer final fantasy and another 20 doing the story with 30+ hours of extras). But then again I might just buy some arcade games, seems like a better place to spend my money.

i want:

More sidequests which make the game have replayability.
Worth the co-op
More shops with new items and more areas
Longer campaign than the dlc
Good voice acting

Thursday, March 12, 2009 @ 05:24:08 PM

I can't wait for new DLC, I loved Knothole Island even if it was short. I would love to have a larger land to play on for the new DLC though, like maybe a really big new town to explore with some mansions and stuff.

Thursday, March 12, 2009 @ 05:28:57 PM

Sounds sweet. I thought Knothole Island was pretty good. All you guys complaining about the length, yeah it's short if you've already beaten the game, but if you play with a NEW hero it'll take you all the way to the Crucible to unlock the last quest. Plus, how could you guys not like, i don't know, the other god damned content! seriously, there's more than the quest. It had all those NEW legendary weapons

Thursday, March 12, 2009 @ 05:36:03 PM

Fable II is a good game, IMO. It pisses me off though that it's designed for HDTVs, which I don't have and probably never will. So half of my health and anything else on the bottom or top of screen is cut off.

@ #39 - Well said :)

Will rent this game out and complete the DLC achievements one day. I completed about 900/1000 and the story and side missions in about 4 days when it came out. Great game, far far to short.

Comment #42 by some Irish guys
Thursday, March 12, 2009 @ 05:56:29 PM

I'm going to agree with #30, definitely a rental. If people would look past the length of Knothole Island, it was the most fun part of the game. It added all of the new potions, armor, and achievements, and my only complaint is length. So, as I wait earnestly for the new DLC, and hope it is just as much fun and a lot longer, I won't keep my fingers crossed.

The first DLC was pretty cool to me you know with the new weapons and items but the length of it was too short you basically did the same quest 3 times. I just hope it does add to the main story or adds a whole knew explorable area.

Fable 2 DLC = Epic Disapointment.
HOPEFULLY we see something more..... full in this upcoming DLC?
I also sold this game a short while ago. Not worth keeping, but I can just borrow it off my friend when need be.
Keep on shipping DLC's LH Studios and MAYBE you'll recover from your partial fail that was Fable2.

P.S. I actually LIKE the game, its just a disapointing sequal to what Fable 1 was.

@ #24 Your opinion doesn't matter at all. He wasn't speaking, neither was he being rash. It's the fucking internet, if you think ANYBODY even ACKNOWLEDGES your condescending opinions, than you should blow your head off. You cannot be banned for that. He's telling a select few that everyone thinks is stupid, that they are stupid. Nobody cares about whether or not you advise for or against something because... wait... I don't understand why you even think you garner any respect, are you like... 5 or older... or a mod... or something... I doubt it.
