Ruh Roh! Some of the Burnout Paradise Content Removed from the Marketplace

Ruh Roh! Some of the Burnout Paradise Content Removed from the Marketplace
Written Thursday, February 19, 2009 by Dan Webb

So it appears that the Toy Cars and the Boost Specials DLC has been taken down from the Marketplace and is no longer available for download.

Why you ask? Well we can only assume that Microsoft released it a tad too early. I thought the Marketplace was unusually busy today as well and it hardly seemed like a good marketing move from EA to release premium content for 3 of their bigger titles on the same day. Now we at least know they haven't gone mad ... or we can assume they haven't.

If you got it, good on you, enjoy it. If not, you'll have to wait till they "officially" release it ... EA and Criterion that is, not Microsoft.

I think really no one didn't get to buy them since the GTA DLC just came out and the majority of people who've bought DLC these days have probably bought the GTA DLC.

Not a big deal, I'm sure people who were about to buy this can wait playing the other DLC.

@ 2, I tried getting it but kept getting an error. :( I really wish they wouldn't do things like this, but oh well.

I just missed it. There is plenty of other DLC. So I can wait for this. The GTA DLC only took 5 hours to complete not worth the 20bucks

I downloaded Burnout Paradise 1.7 and it said that it would only let me play with other people that have it too!

They need to release it quickly!

Funny, that's not the first time something was put on the marketplace and then removed. Golden Lancer anyone? Anyone? No one? Okay.

I managed to download 1.7, the Legendary Cars pack and the Boost Specials pack early this morning when they first went up. Hopefully I'll still be able to use them online even though they've been taken down :-).

I have seen all the cars in action, and they are amazing, seriously they are, even the toy cars, people say they are a letdown, but at this new stage, if someone drives past you in a mini cop car with siren etc, you always look twice, its pretty cool, for me though, nothing beats the knight rider car, its amazing lol, so cool, the Jensen looked gay before I drove it, and its actually really great.

Wow, what insightful input. EA bashing isn't cool any more. Get over it.

It's not the first time content has been withdrawn from Marketplace. These things happen, no point in getting our collective panties in a bunch is there. It'll get sorted out soon enough no doubt.

"The GTA DLC only took 5 hours to complete not worth the 20bucks"
You did not complete the DLC in 5 hours. I highly doubt that you even completed all of the missions in 5 hours. But there is absolutely no way you got to 100% completion in L&D in only 5 hours.

I was only planning on getting the Legendary Cars anyways. EA has, in a way, redeemed themselves from their past DLC travesties, so I don't think of them as the penny pinching asses I used to think them to be. I only really want the Back to the Future Car, but for an extra 300 points I had might as well load up on the 4 coolest cars in the game. I only wish they had achievements, I feel more justified buying DLC when it is to keep my completion of a game absolute.

I really need to get this game but sadly I am having an embargo on video games for myself so I can have more money saved away. When I do get it, I will definitely get pretty much everything they release for it, but not all of it.

That's a bummer for Burnout fans.

I'm still kickin' myself over not getting to the Dead Space DLC while it was free.

Same here Bodam, although problem for me was it was for Gold members only and I was on Silver at that time. Now I am on Gold again and it costs. Yay! (Sarcastic)

They're abit too pricy for a few cars for me, spending my points on some other DLC at the moment!

Downloadable content - achievements or no achievements - will you buy it with or without them?
If the content is good, or for a game I love, I'll buy it regardless of whether chievos are included
I'll still buy and play the downloadable content, but achievements would be nice.
Who the hell cares!?
No achievements, no sale ... and that goes for any game ... whether you're GTA or Halo!
Just stop with the DLC achievements full stop ... you're ruining my completion percentage dammit!
