Yawn...as good as it was... and i thought it was brilliant! i want new games and stop with the HD ports...Tuesday, April 21, 2015 @ 04:15 PM
The PC version maxed out still looks pretty good. I just replayed it earlier this year already. I joked about this with my friends too. "It'll come bundled with a collector's edition of Quantum Break, and still look worse than the 6 year old PC version and run at a lower res and frame rate" I'm not bagging on the Xbox, but there has been a pattern here.Tuesday, April 21, 2015 @ 04:19 PM
PLEASE no more ports. Just focus on the game YOU HAVEN'T YET RELEASED.Tuesday, April 21, 2015 @ 04:20 PM
YES PLEASE.Tuesday, April 21, 2015 @ 04:22 PM
I thought Alan Wake looked spectacular on the 360. I played the remaster of Sleeping Dogs and really enjoyed it despite not exactly setting my eyes ablaze with the improved graphics. I'd love to see a remaster of Alan Wake but with Quantum Break being delayed I'd imagine it's on a way back burner.Tuesday, April 21, 2015 @ 04:23 PM
NO THANKSTuesday, April 21, 2015 @ 04:28 PM
Torts are not resource hogs, especially when there's already a PC version. Stop acting like they're dragging other things down. More often thry help support the studio while working in said new game.Tuesday, April 21, 2015 @ 04:31 PM
A remake could help them gather more funds to make Alan Wake 2 so I would be okay with it.Tuesday, April 21, 2015 @ 04:36 PM
Im totally fine with ports. I am a person who likes to play all the games of a franchise on the same system. If it runs smoother, or looks prettier I am down with thatTuesday, April 21, 2015 @ 04:36 PM
What #4 saidTuesday, April 21, 2015 @ 04:41 PM
Ports are fine, I have a choice as to whether I play them or not, this I think I'll be passing on. I liked it but not enough to play it again.Tuesday, April 21, 2015 @ 04:43 PM
I know so many people are upset about all the ports, but I think they're awesome. You no like, don't buy. I like reliving some of my favorite games, and I hope they redux the Mass Effect and Bioshock trilogies too. I'll bet all the naysayers would shut the hell up if the Orange Box got redone. Or Gears. An Alan Wake redux would be awesome sauce. Loved it first time around.Tuesday, April 21, 2015 @ 04:56 PM
I'd buy the shit out of anything Remedy makes, so would be all over this like a fat kid on cake. I'd play Alan Wake again, even though I still haven't finished the dlc for 360. Guess that should be on my list asap.Tuesday, April 21, 2015 @ 04:59 PM
@12. BioShock and Mass Effect are remasters that I would truly be excited for. I've not played a remastered on the One yet but I'd definitely go for those trilogies bundled together.Tuesday, April 21, 2015 @ 05:00 PM
@8 you really believe that?! Capcom have re-released multiple games but where are the new titles or any proof they are actually working on any? I've had Alan wake since launch day and its still in my backlog to play. Oops.Tuesday, April 21, 2015 @ 05:18 PM
Alan wake was one of xbox 360 best games in my opinion great story and gameplayTuesday, April 21, 2015 @ 05:22 PM
To my great shame i never did get round to playing Alan Wake before moving onto the Xbox One.Tuesday, April 21, 2015 @ 05:34 PM
I would actually love to see an Alan Wake remaster be bundled with Quantum Break. Two times the Remedy fun.Tuesday, April 21, 2015 @ 05:58 PM
I enjoy the game so not hating on this particular title, but no shit "I would love that to happen," Remedy's Creative Director Sam Lake told Polygon. A quick buck for some graphical updates. Feels like i purchased a £300 pound new updated 360 controller rather than a new console, I am sure PS owners are getting same deal on older remakes.Tuesday, April 21, 2015 @ 06:14 PM
Please do it. Favourite game ever!!!!!Tuesday, April 21, 2015 @ 07:04 PM
I'd pay $40 for a port, as long as the visuals have been improved (not that they were bad) and a shiny new achievement list. I'm not against HD ports as long as they're done well.Tuesday, April 21, 2015 @ 07:08 PM
Bioshock (1 and Infinite), Portal 2, Grid 1, Dirt 2, Dead Space 1, Batman Arkham Asylum, Red Dead Redemption and THIS one! Those imho were the best games on the 360!Tuesday, April 21, 2015 @ 07:08 PM
Oh man, Alan Wake was one of those games where I had a white knuckle grip on the controller for the entire time. Was genuinely very suspenseful. Not sure I could handle another play through, lol.Tuesday, April 21, 2015 @ 07:18 PM
Throw in American Nightmare with the Writer and the Signal DLCs and you got a deal. Would love another Alan Wake more though.Tuesday, April 21, 2015 @ 07:34 PM
PLEEEAAASE!!!! I would shamelessly throw money at ut, lol!Tuesday, April 21, 2015 @ 07:46 PM
Why are people going this theoretical port an "remake?" They are not remaking the game, major difference.Tuesday, April 21, 2015 @ 08:02 PM
I would play it!Tuesday, April 21, 2015 @ 08:12 PM
STOP WITH THE RE-MAKES! *Bethesda brings fallout 3 to the One* EXCEPT THAT ONE! just please stop complaining about the re-masters and re-makes, half of the best games on the One are re-mastersTuesday, April 21, 2015 @ 08:25 PM
How about instead of a port, they do a directors cut with added stuff they wanted to do, but couldn't do first time around.Tuesday, April 21, 2015 @ 09:19 PM
Oh joy, another port instead of backward compatibility. Money-grubbing capitalists.Wednesday, April 22, 2015 @ 12:07 AM
Not Alan wake bored as it is... Doesn't need to be redone in 60 FPS...Wednesday, April 22, 2015 @ 01:22 AM
Would be a day one purchase for me. Loved this game. Not a fan of ports typically, but would definitely go for it.Wednesday, April 22, 2015 @ 04:49 AM
I'm goodWednesday, April 22, 2015 @ 08:16 AM
I can't believe that Alan Wake will be 5 years old next month. Feels like only yesterday I was reading reviews and watching walkthroughs..Wednesday, April 22, 2015 @ 08:41 AM
I love remasters and ports, those crying don't have to buy them but some of us actually enjoy playing through great games again and nabbing some more achievements, I say keep them coming thick and fast, I am anxiously awaiting the rumoured Arkham Asylum and City ports.Wednesday, April 22, 2015 @ 09:23 AM
Well this article got me excited reading "Alan Wake Xbox One" then immediately not caring from reading "port".Wednesday, April 22, 2015 @ 11:47 AM
I really enjoyed Alan Wake, though the game was mediocre on first playthrough as the normal mode was easy enough I got into combat and could win. On the hardest setting, unlocked after finishing the game, I wasn't good enough to win so had to run away a lot which really managed to add to the gameplay. Of course, that may not be true for everyone. I can understand re-releasing games when there has been sufficient time between release of the original and the release of the new version, but this seems like rather a short time. However, I'd be rather tempted to get this if it does get ported and made to look really pretty.Wednesday, April 22, 2015 @ 02:16 PM
>Developers porting all these last gen games to current gen consoles Or maybe the consoles could have been made with backwards compatibility. Sometimes it's too much to ask for.Saturday, April 25, 2015 @ 01:02 AM
I enjoyed Alan Wake and would buy it again for the One if that meant we would get the sequel
Tuesday, April 21, 2015
Following news that Alan Wake 2 could still be on the cards for Remedy and Microsoft once Quantum Break launches in 2016, apparently talks have taken place between the developer and platform-holder regarding a possible port of the original Alan Wake for Xbox One.
"I would love that to happen," Remedy's Creative Director Sam Lake told Polygon. "Nothing has happened yet, but we are discussing this possibility with Microsoft. I hope it happens, we'll see."
Were an Xbox One version of the first Alan Wake to release, it would also include the two DLC add-ons, The Signal and The Writer. However, Lake said it's "highly unlikely" that the game would see release on other platforms. That said, an Alan Wake sequel could potentially find its way onto other platforms.
"When it comes to sequels it's our thing, we can do whatever makes sense and what's best for the franchise overall," Lake added. "But obviously it depends on many different things. I think that regardless of the platform, a good sequel - while it continues the story of the original one - it's still something that someone who hasn't played the original one can enjoy and jump on board and dive into the setting and the world and enjoy themselves.
"It's not like a potential sequel of Alan Wake would be only something that someone who has already played everything in the Alan Wake franchise can enjoy," he concluded.
Alan Wake launched for Xbox 360 back in May 2010. You can read our review here.
