Tomb Raider: Underworld DLC Could Be Close By

Tomb Raider: Underworld DLC Could Be Close By
Written Monday, January 12, 2009 by Dan Webb

With all the less than ideal news surrounding Tomb Raider and its publishers today, it's nice to report some actual game news ... rather than all the politics of the industry and what not.

Although the first of two Tomb Raider: Underworld DLC episodes was initially expected the other side of Christmas, a recent listing by Gamestop seems to indicate that they will now ship together on January 21st for a combined price of 1600 points.

$19.99 too much or just right for two episodes of DLC? Sound off in the comments below.

Check out the Gamestop page here.

I was in Gamestop yesterday and it was on the pre-order list. I guess 1600 MP is about right for 2 episodes of DLC. The Fable DLC is 800. I also seen GTA was available at $19.99 pre-order.

That's far too much for what was essentially a mediocre and short game. Doesn't affect me now anyway, as I'm trading it in tomorrow.

800 points per DLC? Well that sound reasonable concidering most game developers seem to charge around that for the same type of content, if of course, its no tiny deal.

So are developers now releasing dlc disc based too?

This is crap news. You guys need to put up the fact that Activision aint doing no more tony hawk titles and its a free project or something. Found that out at 'gamespot' Anyway may get this game if its cheap

Sounds reasonable, I personally thought it was a great game so I might be interested in this depending on achievements?

No, we can read this on the gamestop page : "This is not a disk. It includes 2 XBox Live Market Place Cards."

I loved the game and will surely get the DLC but I really hopes for new achievements !

All I want is my Fallout 3 DLC...I haven't enjoyed a tomb raider since number 2~

I would also like to see some Dead space DLC that isn't LAME!!! New levels would be nice!

@#12 I totally agree with you, new Dead Space stuff would be nice but i don't know how they could do it, i suppose thats why im not a developer!
I would also like the L4D announcement, not the actual dlc just the announcement so i know what the dlc is actually going to be.

It makes me upset that game developers are selling games for $60 and then expecting their fans who have the game to spend an additional $20 for more gameplay, when they should have included it in the first place. A few exceptions are full fledged games like GTA IV and Fallout 3 where the game itself is already very in depth.

That's a fair price, amazing game so I'm looking forward to it.

So its gonna be a card with a code that you have to buy at gamestop? Thats stupid, they should just put it on the market place.

Even idf it was it wouldn't be new thing in the gaming industry, we've been buying expantions for PC games on new disks forever now.

"$19.99 too much or just right for two episodes of DLC?"

Too much, considering that some of that was supposed to be on the disc when I bought the game.

I agree with mjc0961. This price would probably be fine if we hadn't just learned that some portion of this content was supposed to have been on the disc. And this content is Xbox 360 exclusive, right? A total kick in the groin to anybody who only has the PS3 version (and others, though that's the only one that COULD have DLC).

Ten bucks per download is too much without achievements. With them, it's definitely worth going for.

Big TR fan ever since the first one, -TR:AoD. Don't get me wrong, I loved this game but it don't take, but two days to beat this game and is definitely not worth an extra $20 to play maybe 3 more HRs on this game.

Fallout 3 DLC on the other hand is.

Considering that some of this DLC should have been in the original game, its like $5 too much but if I hadn't known that, then of course it should each be 800 points...that makes perfect sense.

depends on the quality... currently, i'd rather get a new game with that 20$

1600MSP Sounds incredibly cheap to me, compared to other garbage DLC's theres been out there that cost too much for what your getting...maybe thats just because I work and have more than enough money to spend

Tuesday, January 13, 2009 @ 12:52:29 AM

yeah, the quality is the first priority. if 1600 msp is just for two pieces of dlc garbage, no one will be the sucker. hope they will bring something worthy.

Seriously, this stuff is starting to cost way too much. Even a regular fucking $60 game winds up costing upwards of $100 to get the "complete" package. What a pain in the ass. I'm still waiting for the lousy Ninja Gaiden II costumes to go free, because that's all they're worth. Horse armor for ninjas.

So how much content is that? I mean, in TR:Legend we got a whole other game (TR:Anniversary) as an add-on for 1600 points.

20 quid seems a bit steep for what was a fairly average game neways.

1600 Microsoft points is worth 2 New chapters of TR Underworld seeing as the first is a continuation of the story..... and as [patches] pointed out fable II DLC is 800 for a new location so its sounds about right if you ask me....

Downloadable content - achievements or no achievements - will you buy it with or without them?
If the content is good, or for a game I love, I'll buy it regardless of whether chievos are included
I'll still buy and play the downloadable content, but achievements would be nice.
Who the hell cares!?
No achievements, no sale ... and that goes for any game ... whether you're GTA or Halo!
Just stop with the DLC achievements full stop ... you're ruining my completion percentage dammit!
