Kravitz DLC Gonna Go Rock Band 2's Way Tomorrow

Kravitz DLC Gonna Go Rock Band 2's Way Tomorrow
Written Monday, January 12, 2009 by Dan Webb

MTV and Harmonix today announced that the Lenny Kravitz track pack will be hitting the Rock Band store tomorrow for 560 Microsoft Points (160 points individually).

The Rock Band “Lenny Kravitz Pack 01” includes three tracks from his 1989 album Let Love Rule including the title track as well as “Freedom Train” and “Mr. Cab Driver.” The pack also includes the title track from his 1993 album Are You Gonna Go My Way, which has been deemed one of Kravitz’ most successful singles.

This week’s addition to the Rock Band Music Store also includes two singles from Harmonix bands including heavy metal band Megasus and the lyrical stylings of Honest Bob and the Factory-to-Dealer Incentives. Megasus makes its first Rock Band appearance with the single, “Megasus,” and Honest Bob and the Factory-to-Dealer Incentives delivers its second track to the Rock Band music library with its song “Entangled”. The band’s hit “I Get By” was featured on the original Rock Band soundtrack. These track will come in at only 80 Microsoft points each.

For me ... this is a step up from Roy Orbison last week, but judging by the comments last week, you guys were more than happy with Roy ... so if anyone wants me, I'll be hiding behind my couch.

*wakes up* ... huh? It's not country or pop? ...Lenny Kravitz?! Wow, Rock Band finally got some actual rock this time!

If I had that game, "Are You Gonna Go My Way" would be an instant buy.

@Comment 9

Have you noticed that after RB2 came out, GH:WT's setlist was shockingly similar? Somewhere around 7-10 songs that were the same?

I don't care tbqh, I have both games.

If they do that then it'll seem like less of a reason to get GH since Rockband will have all the songs... and more.

@9 And haven't you notices is that all Neversoft is doing is ripping of Rock Band. Jeeze Hamronix build and invented the franchise made awesome amplitude and got all instruments together.

Please do some research before you come up with such crap. And why not putting these songs into this game. WH only has like 10-15 great songs and only 5 are exclusive.

Wait... 3 songs for 160 each or 560 for the pack of 3? Is this a type-o or does Microsoft / Harmonix suck at math?

Finally they are putting better music on again, i thought they were taking the GH path and put random bands and songs, then turn to bad modern rock. I am pleased with this newer pack. I will be getting it. Counting the Tuesdays until the Quiet Riot pack comes out.

#21, what's this about beatles songs?

That would be ace, along with the the zep and the floyd, bands that REALLY need representation in this game!!!

@#4
Totally since you know, elements of rock and roll were inspired by black musicians and music.

@#21
Wasn't that the plan from the beginning?

Anyway people really have to deal with the fact people have different tastes in music.... Just because you don't like something doesn't mean it sucks, it just means it's not in your tastes.

@ 18, 21, and 22

Harmonix has already announced they are producing a standalone music game based on the library of The Beatles. So don't expect them to just be RB DLC as they will not be.

Cool, would be ace though if you bought the game and could import to RB2 though....

Doesnt anyone realsie that MTV works with them both so they both use the same music licence, the only difference is RB1/2 are more polised games and the track list is updated weekly

@16 - It says 3 songs from his 1989 album PLUS the title track from his 1993 album as well, so it should be 4 songs for 640 points if bought separately.

Where is where are we runnin' and lady? I'm down for Mr. Cab Driver, and Are You Gonna Go My Way. Let love rule is going to be super boring on rock band.

Meh, Kravitz is ok, I'm interested to see what Honest Bob and the Factory-to-Dealer Incentives's song will sound like, since I do enjoy a quickplay of "I Get By".

@9, 14, and anyone else who complained about RB copying GH

Surely you realise that there are SIX tracks being released this week, only ONE of which is in GH. And of the 500+ tracks released for RB, there's maybe 20-30 that are available in GH as well.

Downloadable content - achievements or no achievements - will you buy it with or without them?
If the content is good, or for a game I love, I'll buy it regardless of whether chievos are included
I'll still buy and play the downloadable content, but achievements would be nice.
Who the hell cares!?
No achievements, no sale ... and that goes for any game ... whether you're GTA or Halo!
Just stop with the DLC achievements full stop ... you're ruining my completion percentage dammit!
