Microsoft: Ninja Blade Set for Q1 Euro Release
Written Wednesday, January 07, 2009 By Dan Webb

Speaking to VG247 earlier, a Microsoft representative told the site that Ninja Blade was set foir a Q1 09 Euro release.

From Software's latest title doesn't seem to have been out in the open too long but Japan has already seen a demo and the title now looks to be reaching the end of its development arch.

Microsoft are in need of a good performance from From Software's latest title if it's to pick up where Gaiden left off, but recent titles from the Japanese company (Armoured Core 4 and Tenchu Z) have barely made an impact.

No word on the North American release although I would have though that it would have been around the same time as the European release.

In case you missed them yesterday, check out the 12 newest Ninja Blade screens here.

I must say that I believe this will be stronger than Ninja Gaiden II. I certainly hope for it.

A Q1 release date here in the states would be superb.

Good solid demo and I honestly dint expect the button prompt cutscenes which was cool. End boss was poor though

im sorry but i don't care what anyone says, this game is awesome its like ninja gaiden on speed or something either way its awesome and definatly worth a buy. its amazing how they can have 4 swords and have each of them behave COMPLETELY differently. i loved NG2 and i go back and replay from time to time but i don't think i'll be able to pry my fingers off the controller when i get Ninja Blade lol

would rather have more rog's from this company than a ninja gaiden clone, but it looks pretty cool so i may give it a looky.

Just played the demo and oh my god. I'm normally not this blown away but it was Shinobi of War. Preordering this one immediately.

The same guys doing this did the Otogi games. I don't know about you, but those games rocked. They were sleeper hits. I'm looking forward to this.

I hate to flame up the comment section, but Ninja Blade looks like ramped up crap from trailers that show barely any game play and from that we are assuming it will take Gaiden's throne? X360a needs to stop fueling the hype machine, Gaiden changed action titles since the early years, it gave us a true video game test, rather than another boring walkthrough.

Fuck Blade Gaiden Forever

Fuelling the hype machine? lol Did you read my news post at all? I do hate to quote myself, but it's necessary sometimes ...

"Microsoft are in need of a good performance from From Software's latest title if it's to pick up where Gaiden left off, but recent titles from the Japanese company (Armoured Core 4 and Tenchu Z) have barely made an impact."

That my friend is 0% hype and more cynicism than anything.

Not after you webley, more so the trailer fan boys, no personal attack, you of all people should be the least biased, and for the record if you devoted some time to it Tenchu Z wasn't very deep but for the most part fairly fun

You're right sweep, we shouldn't judge stuff based on trailers, it's not like there's a Demo or anything so you can try it already... oh wait...

I played the demo last night. It looks good, but I wouldn't say it will be better than NG. Graphics look good, sound/voice acting is good and gameplay seems good as well. Plays like a Heavenly Sword/NG mash-up. One thing that really caught my attention though was that they talk in both English and Japanese (with subtitles). I thought that was really cool.

So has this got nothing to do with ninja gaiden?
Even with the Ryu look a like, no flaming here.

I just played the Demo and it's not bad, not bad at all. I actually like it better than Ninja Gaiden. I stopped playing the last Ninja Gaiden after 2-3 hours b/c in retrospect it sucked. The biggest issue I had with it was the insanely inane camera. Ninja Blade so far seems to have a pretty well thought out camera placement. The boss was a little bit lackluster and easy to take down, but overall I give the demo thumbs up. I don't know if it'll take away the sword slinging fun of Devil May Cry, but I'm definitely looking forward to this one.

From the screenshots it looks better than Ninja Gaiden 2. Is he riding a motorcycle in the first picture? Hopefully we can use it in the game.

@ Curt
Maybe if your speaking of Ninja Gaiden 1 for the NES, the entire series is on many renouned websites listing it as a top 10 hardest game

The one thing that stands out to me is that Itagaki brought a sense of style to NG, while NB looks sumpremely gaudy, with shit everywhere and button prompts vs actual skill
