Who cares? The Silent Hill franchise is on its arse: anyone into their survival horror is playing Dead Space and counting down to RE5. This game is pointless. |

You can't really compare Silent Hill to RE5, yes it's survival horror, but SH is more "get inside your head" horror, where RE has more recently become much more of a shoot em' up. You wouldn't compare Need for Speed with say GRID, just because they're both racing games.
But, as a big fan of the Silent Hill franchise, i'll probably be staying away from this - firstly because of the lack of any input from Team Silent and secondly, it doesn't look very good.
Though i'll happily get a copy if i'm proved wrong on the latter.

ill be getting this, most likely wont bother getting res 5 after how res 4 on gamecube turned out, sure the game itself was ok but to me it just didnt feel like part of the resident evil series, more of a metal gear solid type spin off with all the codec cutscenes etc. so yea silent hill gets my vote |

I have Silent Hill:Homecoming and really enjoyed it. Throughout the story it makes you wonder what is happening to the town and keeps you guessing. Its also freaky as hell. Screws with your head pretty bad. As for deadspace which i have also that game i didnt find scary at all. I dont understand how people say they couldnt play it unless someone was in the room with hem |

I hope SH fans in Europe do get down on this game, I myself am hoping to get it for xmas. I love the SH series just as much as I love RE and Fatal Frame games, because each offer up a new way of horror. (I want a fucking next-gen FF game dammit, that thing scared me more than RE or SH ever did on PS2). That, and SH has stretched out into other genres with it's decent movie, and comic series. Not to mention the soundtracks of SH are far above any other survival-horror games I've played. I'm hoping that when I get it next week, it'll stay true to the SH days I loved. |

I was really looking forward to this game back when it got released in America (I didnt realise it wasnt being released here at the same time).
I've kinda just forgotten about it now, but I'll prob pick it up when used copies start to pop up in the shops. And the fact that the developer wont be receiving any profit from that particular sale, is all because of Mr. Konami and his silly delays.

don't know if this was mentioned already....
if you invert your Y axis, you're totally screwed with this game. at least thats the case with the US version. there is NO OPTION TO INVERT YOUR Y AXIS!!!! and they've stated publicly they don't plan on patching that issue. |

I will definitely buy this game as a big fan of the series, but not sure if I would on the actual release date. As far as RE5 is concerned, I think its a completely different game than Silent Hill. Still I have the money and time to play both games, so chances are I will buy both.
One more thing, I've heard people complaint that Silent Hill Homecoming doesn't have online co-op. Wow! I thought Horror games are supposed to be played alone. |
