Rockstar Games Announces South Central Upgrade for Midnight Club: Los Angeles

Rockstar Games Announces South Central Upgrade for Midnight Club: Los Angeles
Written Friday, December 12, 2008 by James Parkin

Rockstar Games is proud to announce the massive downloadable upgrade and content pack for Midnight Club: Los Angeles. The content will be available early next year for the Xbox 360.

The "South Central Upgrade Map" provides players with a whole new area of the city, about one-third the size of the original map, and will be available for free. This area features L.A. landmarks such as Exposition Park, the USC campus, Shrine Auditorium, Crenshaw Plaza, and the L.A. Memorial Coliseum and stretches south to the 105 Freeway. In addition to the free new city area, players will be able to purchase the "South Central Content Pack" which includes new character competitions, races, cars and music available in a single complete package. The new vehicles include a variety of cars and a motorcycle. Also making an appearance for the first time in Midnight Club: Los Angeles will be SUVs, a longtime favorite of the series' fans.

"This downloadable content hones in on a very iconic area of Los Angeles," said Jay Panek, Midnight Club Producer at Rockstar San Diego. "'This South Central download features staples of the area, from the landmarks to the types of cars, and we think it really helps enhance the overall L.A. feel we set out to recreate."

We also have three new screens, check em out below or click here to view the entire Midnight Club: Los Angeles gallery.

SUV's will be a good addition but hopefully people will use them online instead of just jumping into a lambo or something.. ive started going on the ranked free roams in C class cars or something.. more competition that everyone having the best car in the game.

Sweet!
I must get this game now.
Now I will be able to drive through South Central in something nicer than my work van. I hope the side streets are laid out the same as real life, that way I can get some good short cuts through the ghetto.

I think the DLC might renew my interest in the game.. after i completed it the christmas rush hit me and it just fell by the wayside with about 300 G to go... are there any more achievements to go with the DLC?

Downloadable content - achievements or no achievements - will you buy it with or without them?
If the content is good, or for a game I love, I'll buy it regardless of whether chievos are included
I'll still buy and play the downloadable content, but achievements would be nice.
Who the hell cares!?
No achievements, no sale ... and that goes for any game ... whether you're GTA or Halo!
Just stop with the DLC achievements full stop ... you're ruining my completion percentage dammit!
