Who said that too many good games coming out in such a short period could ever be a bad thing? Well, for all those in the UK eagerly anticipating the Rise of the Argonauts release, it's the reason that game has been delayed over here. Speaking to x360a today, Codemasters stated that the issue for delay in the UK was simply a retail issue.
Codemasters stated that they attempted to get the game on the shelves in line with the other territories but being a busy retail period, they couldn't get the shelf space the game deserved and as a result, decided to delay the game.
It's yet another sign that the October/November rush is nothing but bad for the industry meaning that with the fierce competition, unless your name is Gears of War or Call of Duty, the title may not get the attention it deserves ... a la Mirror's Edge.
Hopefully this will factor in to publisher's action plans next year and beyond, and instead we get a steady flow of titles throughout the year. Capcom are a fine example of this, choosing to release all their stellar titles in early 2009 ... Street Fighter IV, Bionic Commando AND Resident Evil 5 are all expected to drop in Q1.
