Rock Band Nirvana DLC Planned for Next Week

Rock Band Nirvana DLC Planned for Next Week
Written Saturday, October 18, 2008 by Dan Webb

One of the classic albums to come out of the 90's without a shadow of a doubt was Nirvana's "Nevermind". So Rock Band addicts will be happy to know that the next DLC pack will be made up entirely of Nevermind tracks.

The track pack will feature the following 7 songs and will be available on Tuesday 21st October for 160 MSP per song or 880 for the pack:

Breed
Lounge Act
On a Plain
Polly
Something in the Way
Stay Away
Territorial Pissings

Call me pessimistic, but the 3 defining tracks off Nevermind are missing (Come As You Are, Smells Like Teen Spirit and my personal favourite, Lithium). So while this may be good news for Nirvana fans worldwide, it comes with its drawbacks and will probably not appeal to as many music fans now.

I suppose some Nirvana is better than no Nirvana, right?

As much as the 3 you mentioned were not included, i suppose Breed and TP will do just fine

Damn when I saw the news headline I was praying for Come As You Are and Lithium, I like Smells Like Teen Spirit but its way too overplayed. Breed will be the only purchase for me I think.

I have a feeling they will release the other three songs in another pack later. One pack for the hardcore Nirvana fans and one pack for everyone.

Not their best songs, but almost as good. Still a must buy for a true music fan, and a Nirvana fan.

How excited most of us are shows how awesome an album this was. The hits aren't on there and we're still pumped. Except #9, I hope you are stabbed to death by heroin junkies.

Lame.
I would taken covers if need be, but they left the 3 out, masters or not. Gah, I never get the music I love and/or want. So I have to cope with all this 'stuff' they bring out. And even still, It's not the best they can do.
Lame.

OK, I've been psyched about the nevermind album forever now it seems. So we didn't get the whole thing... yet. Those are still awesome songs, which might have cost them less to get than the more main-stream ones. They may be using these to "feel out" if enough people want it, and then maybe they'll finish the album. Might not even be Rock band holding back, could be the music label...

I was just thinking the other day that "Polly" would be a great Rock Band addition. Now if only that worked for Pink Floyd, The Beatles, and Tool.

real nirvana fans would prefer this and most likely are tired of the three songs that were out especially "Smells Like Teen Spirit"

WHERE IS SMELLS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT!? Come on now..

Those three tracks mentioned are singles and I imagine that makes licensing them a bit more expensive.

I hate Nirvana, ever since GH2. Heart Shaped Box wtf a dying guitar??? Seriously, they can do much better, there are so many bands that have potential and have better music.

This is good. I like Polly and Breed alot, but seriously, why didn't they go ahead and put the rest of the album? I'll still get this though. Next, they need Rape Me though.

@ 30

People have their own taste in music.

Having a taste in music is different than band bashing a highly popular band and a dead musician. You people should be ashamed of yourselves.

I don't listen to them either but you don't see me bashing them do you? It's called being civilized, you people should try it sometime.

If they're not releasing the full album (obviously by some gaping holes) they should've added in some other tracks:

All Apologies
About a Girl
Rape Me (not sure if Harmonix would allow it)

and others!

I was really looking forward to Come as You Are :(

Odds are they're saving the last three for another Rock Band song disc where they can charge the most. ;)

For clarification's sake, does all new RB-related DLC work with the original Rock Band? I've been living in a cave for the past few weeks and would love to know.

Yes, Finally Nirvana DLC.
I've been waiting for this since I RB1 Released.
Sad though they didn't add the Three other songs off their Nevermind album but I'm Surely Buying everyone of these songs since I grew up with Nirvana.

Downloadable content - achievements or no achievements - will you buy it with or without them?
If the content is good, or for a game I love, I'll buy it regardless of whether chievos are included
I'll still buy and play the downloadable content, but achievements would be nice.
Who the hell cares!?
No achievements, no sale ... and that goes for any game ... whether you're GTA or Halo!
Just stop with the DLC achievements full stop ... you're ruining my completion percentage dammit!
