The Witcher games have sold six million copies in six years across all platforms, CD Projekt RED has announced.
The dark fantasy RPG series, based on the work of novelist Andrzej Sapkowski, debuted on PC in 2007, while an enhanced sequel appeared on Xbox 360 in 2011. The third game in the trilogy hits PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2014.
"CD Projekt RED was built on the idea that giving gamers more is always worth it. Since the very beginning of our journey we have seen that the approach of inviting gamers into a dialogue with the developer is really important and can shake up the - sometimes self-destructive - business side of games,” said studio boss Adam Badowski.
“We hope you'll stay with us for the years to come and that we will continue to make these changes together.”
To accompany the announcement CD Projekt RED has also released a stat-filled infographic and a sexy bit of sixth birthday art. They’re both below.
