@5 haha!
@4 i think theres a similar deal going on with the sudden popularity of Manchester in the last couple of years; especially since the Beeb moved up there.

@ 4 - It's an odd decision but as a Glaswegian, it's for good reason! They are going to East Kilbride, where everyone wears a trackie and carries a chib and healthy living is having your smack with a side of chips. I'm amazed they are going there over Edinburgh.
Anyway, this kind of event doesn't appeal to me. I know what kind of person I am (fat, sweaty, unattractive, bit of a dickhead). Being locked in a shop with more people like that, to play a new videogame console just doesn't appeal to me. I can happily wait considerably longer before I buy/play a Xbone. For me, 360 still has at least a years worth of games I haven't played that I want to play.

Managed to play them last night in Dundee. They had Dead Rising 3, Killer Instinct, Ryse and Forza.
Dead Rising 3 is awesome. 10 min. demo with some of the better weapons. Loads of cars to drive. Even managed to drive a JCB type digger! The "Thor" hammer was loads of fun. Looked like a sledge hammer with a battery attached.
Killer Instinct is great. Particle effects were great, even managed a combo breaker!
Forza looked unbelievable. Rumble triggers worked well, but I was expecting more feedback. It's more like a mobile phone vibrating rather than a rumble. Maybe it was the pad, not sure.
Didn't play Ryse. Didn't appeal to me.
The box it's self looks huge though. Bigger than a original 360. We had some "technical difficulties" at the start. Had something to do with bandwidth and the cloud size of things. Doesn't bode well for launch day!

I've applied...
Didn't like the bit where it says " have you preordered a next gen console?" -no "are you looking to buy one in the next 3 months?" - no
Or when you click yes, you get "which playstation 4, Xbox one"
I don't particularly like those questions but what do I care? I hope I get invited!

Just to clarify the issue with the Xbox Ones last night had nothing to do with the cloud or bandwidth and won't affect people on launch day. The Xbox One's used are Dev kits so must call home to be used and as we are using the shops Internet we have to go through a firewalled and closed network which we had to get around, nothing that will affect retail models at home :)
Also we will be in Manchester till the 4th December, not just one week.
